Revenge - 9

"You dare touch me you filthy human." He spat. "You dare touch me you filthy vampire." I countered still on the floor. I hope you guys like this chapter. Sorry it took me a long time to post.
The hallway was long and dark. There were no windows but that was probably because vampires hated sunlight. My tired feet were trying their best to catch up to the maid. I still didn't know where I was going but I think I'm starting to believe that this is really a castle. No house could have this many doors. And at every door stood a guard eying me while I passed by. I wondered why my team didn't discover this yet. It they don't know where the caste is, then how are they going to find me. I have to try to find a way out of here.

"Here we are miss." The maid led me into a huge room with nothing but two big chairs on the far right of the room. On one of those chairs sat a man who looked like he could be in his forties and next to him stood Xavier.

"Adilia you are late." The man who sat on the big chair said with a frown on his face.
The maid quickly ran over and knelt down in front of the man.
"I'm so sorry my king. Please forgive me." She begged with tears streaming down her face.
The king got up and walked over to Adilia.
"Stand up my child." He said and Adilia quickly stood up. He looked her straight in the eye and said "You are forgiven," and I could see that his teeth were starting to extend. He had the longest fangs I ever saw. then he grabbed Adilia"s head and sank his fangs into her neck. He did it all so fast that Adilia didn't even get a chance to scream.

"No," I screamed. and I ran over to the king to try to grab Adilia from him. Startled, he dropped Adilia and slapped me out of his way. I looked over to where Xavier was and he looked away.
"You dare touch me you filthy human." He spat.
"You dare touch me you filthy vampire." I countered still on the floor.
"Why you little brat." The king spat and walked back to Xavier and whispered something in his ear. Xavier nodded and the king called in his guards and they walked over to where I was sitting. Before they could pick me up, I hit the first one that touched me. He mumbled something and knocked me out. I could feel my body being picked up and after a while I was dropped on the hard ground. I heard the doors close and I drifted into a deep sleep.

"Ashley, Ashley. Wake up." I opened my eyes to find Xavier staring at me.
"Go away." I said and tried to push him away but he didn't move.
"Ashley come on, we have to go." He said. There was no way I was going anywhere with him. "Do you want to rot in this cell, or do you want to get out of here?" He asked not waiting for me to answer, he picked me up and carried me bridle style out the prison door and back to his room. When we got there, he opened the door and dropped me on the bed. He then grabbed a suitcase and started packing our things. Since he was a vampire, he had great speed so I was getting a headache watching him run around.

"Why didn't you do anything." He stopped and looked up at me puzzled.
"What do you mean?" He asked.
"When the guards brought me to the dungeon." I explained.
"I told them to. It was either I killed you then or let you rot there till you died."
"Oh. So where are we going now. And what's up with the suitcase?" I asked.
"We're going to visit an old friend of mines. No more questions, I'll explain everything on the way there." He said and grabbed the suitcase. I hopped off the bed and followed him to the door. He opened it and lead me outside.

"This way." He said and I followed him. There were guards at door so Xavier had to knock them out. We walked for a few more minutes and then reached a huge door. Xavier opened it and lead me outside. It seemed like forever since I stepped foot in the outside world. I took a deep breath a breathed in the fresh afternoon air realizing that I was free. That I could go back to my base. But would I?

"Do you want to." Xavier asked while looking straight into my eyes.
"Do I want to what?" I asked confused.
"Do you want to go home?" He asked and I stared at him not wanting to answer his question. I sighed and said, "I don't know."
"Ashley, there's something you should know."
"What is it." I asked.
"I never wanted to kill your parents but it was something I had to do. The king sent me to kill them. It was either my life or theirs, and I guess I chose mine. Your parents were vampire slayers just like you, but they were the best of kind. All vampires who were vampires hated your parents. Including me. I'm sorry." He said and took my hands in his. "I truly am sorry."

There were tears in my eyes from remembering back to that painful moment. From what Xavier told me, I could see that my parents death wasn't his fault. He did kill them but even if he didn't another vampire would have killed them anyway. It's not his fault. I realized, it's mine. If I would have been there for them, if I would have not gone to that stupid dance.

"It's all my fault. How could I have not know?" I cried.
"Ashley, it's not your fault, you didn't know. The past is the past. Now we just have to get out of here before the king notices that we're gone and calls the guards."
"So where are we going?" I asked.
"Do you want to go home?" He asked me.
"I can't. I haven't killed you yet so if I go back home they'll kill me for it." I explained.
"Well then, I guess you'll have come with me then."
"Where?" I asked.
"Venezuela," he said with a smile on his face.
"Is that where your friend lives?"

"Yeah. No one will find us there." He explained. The castle doors opened and guards came pouring out. They were caring bows and arrows in their hands. Xavier grabbed my hand and started running. We ran into the forest and they followed us. "This way," he said and led me over to where a bush was and we hid behind it.
"Stay down." He told me.
"Are we just going to wait here until they go away?" I asked.
"Yeah we have to. I would go out and fight them but I don't want to leave you here alone." He explained.
"Xavier."
"Yeah" He turned and looked at me.
"I think there gone."
"We've been looking for you Ashley." That voice. It sounds so familiar. No it couldn't be. I turned around to find Macon standing there holding a gun pointed at me. The rest of the team surrounded him.
