"Let me guess. The vampire told you?" I nodded.

He sighed and finally gave up.

"Twenty years ago a war broke out between vampires and humans. Your mother and father was the greatest out of all of us. They were the ones that lead the army. They were the ones that single-handedly took on some of the world's strongest vampires and survived. They showed us that vampires were no stronger nor were they no weaker than we were. Your parents gave us the courage to fight and to stand by their side."

"Where are my parents now, and why didn't they just raise me themselves?" I asked when he had finally finished.

"No one knows. They disappeared eight years ago. When your mom knew she was pregnant, she told your father and they were so overwhelmed with joy that they had no idea anything was going to happen to you. They wanted to give you a normal life. A life where no killing was involved. A few months after your mom had you, news traveled fast and finally it got to the king. The vampire king. He made a deal with your parents that he wouldn't touch kill you if you parents give themselves up. Well when they heard the news, your parents immediately put you under the protection, two of the world's best vampire slayers other that themselves and after that no one's heard from them since."

"Wait, Macon, how do you know so much about this? Were you there when all this happened??

"You could say that."

"Macon."

"Yeah?"

"Why did you want to kill me?"

"I would never want to hurt you, let alone kill you. I was just so upset that you would choose a vampire over me that I pointed a gun in your face. I'm sorry Ashley. I know what I did unforgivable, but if you can find it somewhere in your heart to forgive." I cut him off

"You're forgiven." I told him.

"H-how can you forgive me so easily?" He asked me surprised.

"Well I mean I've known you for a long time and you're kind of like my family. Also Xavier kind of taught you a lesson." I said referring to his leg.

"I see you guys are friends." Xavier said while walking over to us.

"We were always friends." I said while hugging Macon.

"Watch the leg Ashley."

"Oh, sorry." I said while smiling.

"Here, this should help." Xavier said while biting his wrist. He used his free hand to roll up Macon's jeans and squeezed the blood from his wrist to Macon's leg. Me and Macon watched it heal miraculously.

"Thanks." Macon said to Xavier.

"No problem."

"Let me guess, vampire blood can heal wounds."

Xavier nodded and said, "They can't be to deep though.

Macon stood up to face the both of us.

"Can't feel a thing." He told us.

"Ashley, it's getting dark." Xavier told me.

"I know. Are we going to camp here or do you have something else in mind?"

"Actually I was wondering if you and your team want to spend the night at my cabin. It's only like half a mile ahead."

"That sounds like a great idea. Let me go ask them." I told him and walk to where my team was sitting.

"Hey guys, Xavier says that he has a cabin up ahead and it's getting dark, so do you guys wanna spend the night there?"

"Sure." Madeline said.

"As long as me and Nina have separate rooms." Randy said.

"Oh and speaking of Nina did she wake up?" I asked.

"No. She's still out cold." He said as a small tear fell from his eyes.

"It's OK Randy, she'll wake up a vampire and you two will be together again." I said while giving him a pat on the back.

"It's not OK. When she wakes up, she'll be a... vampire."

"You love right." I asked.

"More than anything." He answered.

"Then you wouldn't care whether she's a vampire or not. You would just love her. Kind of like I do with Xavier" oops. that last one slipped out of my mouth before I could take it back.

"I know."

"You know what?" I asked

"I know that I love Nina and that you love him."

"I don't love him. It just stumbled out of my mouth is all."

"Randy. Randy." Someone was calling him. Wait I recognize that voice. It's 'Nina!" Randy yelled as he ran over to clutch her in his arms once she sat up.

"I'm so cold Randy." Nina said.

"Here." Randy said while taking off his jacket and giving it to her.

"Thanks babe." She said and kissed him on the lips.

"The transformation's beginning." Xavier said while walking over to them, "We have to go now."

"OK Xavier." He said while picking up Nina and carrying her bridal style, "Lead the way."
