Residential Elevators: Home Elevators and Lifts
Nowadays, more and more people are incorporating residential elevators in their multi-storied homes. They do it for several reasons such as; to make their life stress-free and luxurious, to show off their style and status, and for disabled people who are unable to climb stairs. Home elevators and lifts are very useful for people who have houses with several stories. Their use enables people to save a lot of time, which is needed to go from floor to floor by the stairs. Nowadays, residential elevators are proving to be more of a necessity than just a status symbol. They are not only utilized to take individuals from story to story, but also carry heavy objects which are impossible to be transported by stairways. For the younger working generation, they merely mean convenience, speed, and luxury.

Residential Elevators

Residential elevators are unambiguously designed and integrated with keeping safety features and accessibility in mind. Some people incorporate custom-made ones as per their suitability and budget. They are user-friendly and quite simple to be operated by any member of the family. Some common facilities include interlocking doors, a button or switch for an emergency stop, battery backup when power goes off, a telephone, and a simple-to-understand touchscreen control system. Every residential elevator has its own set of customized features and functions to serve in an efficient manner.

Stair Lifts

For people who think that incorporating residential elevators in their homes requires a lot of financial investment, stair lifts is an affordable and appropriate option for them. Stair lifts are convenient for people who are suffering from arthritis or Alzheimer's disease. They are equipment which are meant for carrying a person up and down the staircases. If you want to install a stair lift on a straight stairway, there are several kits which can be attached to the stairway in just a few hours. Such sets include a metal track which can directly be attached to the staircase, and a car on which the individual sits, that goes up and down the stairs. In some cases, a 'perch' is used, which is a small platform on which the person stands. Even though stair lifts can be installed by any person, it is always recommended to take assistance from a well-trained installation team for this purpose. This will rule out the possibilities of some errors and faults which may cause the stair lift to malfunction.

Stair lifts can only be best used on a straight stairway. In the case of a curved stairway, residential elevators are the best alternative. They can be incorporated much sooner than curved stairway lifts. If they are installed, they would surely add value to your home, which will in turn appreciate the price of your house, if you decide to sell it in future. A curved stairway lift won't have much resale value as it would only be used on an identical staircase.

Before purchasing a residential elevator or stair lift, it is recommended to consult with the dealer who may guide and assist you regarding what actually would be most suitable for your home needs. He may also suggest the finishing and color of the lift's interior which would match the room's interior setting.
