Resident Evil franchise has been the forerunner of the horror/survival/action genre of games. The franchise was developed by Capcom and made by Shinji Mikami. The series is said by some to be the creator of the survival horror genre, which was later taken ahead by games like Alone in the Dark and more recently, The Suffering. The series has been successful enough to have movie, comic books and novel spin offs. The game has had two movies released, while a third is under production.

The storyline of the movie is simple enough, telling of cannibalistic zombies who have been unleashed on the Raccoon City in the Arklay Mountains region. A special team from the local police, Special Tactics and Rescue Squad (S.T.A.R.S) are recruited to the area for investigations. The game finally speaks of a top secret 'Umbrella Corporation' whose experiments are the cause of genetic mutations in humans which turn them into mindless zombies.

The fourth sequel to the game, Resident Evil 4 was released for the Nintendo Gamecube and then ported to the PlayStation 2. A Nintendo Wii version is set to be released in late 2007.

Resident Evil 4 tells the story of the instances four years after the original Resident Evil Two and Three. Leon Scott Kennedy, one of the few survivals of Raccoon City now works for a security agency, which has been hired to secure the release of the kidnapped Ashley Graham, the American President's daughter.

Leon meets many other characters from the game world, and finds out that Humanity now has to combat a much dangerous enemy than the Umbrella Corporation.

Here are cheats, tips and tricks for Resident Evil 4

To beat Saddler, look at his legs. You will see an eye, keep shooting at the eye until it reaches his mouth. Get near it and press the Action button. If you do it three times, you will be able to go across the bridge and get the rocket launcher. Use the rocket launcher on Saddler.

Use the incendiary grenades and the shotgun on the man with the chainsaw. You can find the shotgun in the building diagonal to the tower.

To skip the first encounter with the chainsaw man, get into the town and kill everybody. Kill the second wave of the zombies. Then, go into the house.

If you see a snake after smashing boxes in the game, you can gain health by taking it. However, if you don't take the snake, it may bite you and you will lose health.

Some trees will have bird nests during the village stage. You can shoot them to get valuable jewels. These jewels can be sold at the local jeweler.

You can use the laser sight in your gun to shoot at the explosive of middle of traps. This way, you can decrease the chances of suffering bear traps of explosives.

Make sure to smash each and every crate to get goodies. It is suggested that you use the knife, instead of wasting ammunition while breaking crates.

If you wait until you have low ammunition to reload, the next clip will always have a full ammunition.

If Annie is still up a cliff or ladder, you can point a gun at her. She will hold her skirt and call you a pervert.

The solution to Ashley's puzzle in 3-4 is 4, 7, 8, 9, 6, 3, 1, 7, 9.

During the ski jump mission, go to the cave and kill all the monsters. Go to the ladder and jump down, make sure you don't catch Ashley. Go a couple of steps back and use a rifle. Use the scope to look down Ashley's skirt. Have fun.
