Rescued?
It's a little thing that popped into my head Comment? :)
Robert
Sydney and I arrived in Tokyo with three million yen in spending money, according to Kyle's bad descriptions; spending money meant "drinking" money. We headed for the bar that he had sent directions to and walked in. we ducked as a cake flew over our heads, then I really took a look of the place. It was a mess Japanese drunkards were having a food fight. What the hell? I was about to walk out when I got a text from Kyle.
Come upstairs idiot.
I realized there was a staircase that said "brotherhood members only" wow I felt stupid. We walked upstairs and then it actually looked like a party. There was nice music on and everyone was dressed casual, even Dr. Woodside who usually wore a tux to any party.
Kyle walked up to us and handed me a box. It said "pocky" on it. Why did he just give me a box of candy? He looked at us and said. "Glad you could make it." he turned around and yelled "they're here!" everyone cheered. Wow...I think everyone must be drunk.
Alex walked up to us and pushed us to the center of the dance floor. "We all voted the two of you should go first." She and Kyle had a devilish grin on their faces. I suspected it had something to do with the candy. Kyle picked up a microphone. "Alright, Robert and Sydney I'm guessing the two of you are confused. Am I right?"
We nodded out heads. "Very confused." I heard her say.
Kyle laughed. "Ok. The two of you are going to be the first to play a Pocky game!"
It took a second for me to understand what he was saying. "What?!"
"But first," Alex walked up with a clipboard. "Choose a number between one and five."
I and Sydney said "five." At the same time.
She laughed. "Wow that's a coincidence, the two of you chose each other." She took my box of pocky and pulled a long thin chocolate covered stick of candy out of it.
"Open your mouth." She ordered. Then she stuck the fist end in my mouth and had Sydney take the other end between her lips. She took a step back and grinned as my face turned into a tomato.
Everyone began chanting. "Chew, chew, chew, chew!"
We did as we were told; it only took five chews for my lips to touch hers so weird... I thought. I looked at Sydney, her face was red too but I saw her smile. It gave me courage. I wrapped my arms around her and kissed her properly, earning a "Woo!" from the forgotten audience.
She grinned and she pulled her lips back slightly, swallowed her candy, making me do the same, then her lips collided with mine again. Kyle and Alex cheered and I saw Kevin roll his eyes and smile. Then my eyes were on hers, she was smiling and blushing, but we were both enjoying ourselves. After a while we let go and let someone else have a turn. Alex and Kyle were next. They had forgone the candy entirely and went straight to it. Kyle had his arms tight around Alex and Alex had her arms around his neck, their signature kissing pose.
I smiled and watched, it was funny, they weren't making out or anything and it wasn't gross or anything. They were clearly putting on a show for everyone.
Then Kyle released Alex and said. "Alright, that enough, you guys go stare at someone else kissing." We laughed and dispersed. Alex took Kyle's hand and led him outside. It was probably just to kiss some more. I turned my attention and saw Kevin and a girl chewing their way into a make out session. Sydney and I cheered like everyone else, and we were completely distracted.
We didn't hear the planes soaring above us; we didn't hear Alex's screams for help and Kyle yelling that he would save her. The only thing that stopped our fun was Kyle himself. He wasn't grinning and happy like us. He was in leader mode, his red eyes blazing. He told DJ to cut the music and he grabbed a microphone.
"Guys," he said, we stopped immediately and stood at attention, watching him with intense seriousness. Silence.
Then Kyle continued, "Alex is gone, kidnapped by IndigoStar. The plane is a Union-45."
We all knew what was going to happen; we were going to go save her, right now. I stepped up to the stage. "I'm with you man." I told him. Kevin and Michael were right behind me.
He nodded in thanks and assigned the rest of us to our posts. Tokyo had the best technology bases for the brotherhood. They were assigned to our management building to take care of our surprise mission. Ten to give us a play-by-play of their whereabouts ten to assist us in getting to her, and the rest were to make sure they could hack into the system of wherever we were going so we could make this a quick in and out, get Alex, kill them all and get out.
We filed out and Kyle paid the bill, then he walked out by my side, I saw Sydney walking out. She gave me a look, she knew I was going. "Be careful." She mouthed to me. I nodded and said "yes."
Kyle didn't even bother talking, he was too mad. His anger was a little much for me though.
"Kyle, cool it man, we are going to go get her. You don't need to be looking as if you are going to murder everyone in sight, you know what Alex would've said." I smiled slyly and he flinched a little at the sound of her name.
Then he smiled a bit. "She'd have said, 'Kyle! Calm down, it's gonna be okay, I'll be fine.'" Then he looked at me. "Thanks dude."
I rolled my eyes. "Having a girlfriend is turning you into a homo; I'm going to pretend you didn't say that and say this. You're welcome man." I punched him lightly.
We took the back door with Kev and Mike behind us. We hopped in our cars and drove to the nearest airfield. Kyle was already ahead of us.
"We can counter a Union-45 with a Victory-9." He said, while climbing into the cockpit, flipping switches, and the plane was already loaded with weapons and we just got on before he took off without us.
Kev said. "Are you sure this is the best thing to do Kyle? I mean I respect how you feel about Ali and all but is it really..." he trailed off, he knew that with the look on his face, Kyle already had read his mind, and wasn't too happy about it either. Using his brain, Kevin shut up, knowing that another word would get him injured, or thrown off the plane at best.
Kyle put on the headphones and checked in with the team at the management building, they had already picked up Alex's watch signal. She was somewhere on an island by china. But she was too far away from Kyle to talk mentally with her.
We took off within minutes and while Kyle flew, Michael and I cleaned the guns. After a while Kevin and Michael had both slept off, but Kyle didn't bother waking them up.
"I should have brought them." He muttered to be when I sat in the second pilot seat in the cockpit.
"They wouldn't have let you go with just me." I told him.
"That's why I didn't complain, they have to sleep off the alcohol though. You didn't drink any did you?" he looked over at me.
I shook my head. "Just soda." I looked ahead into the west, he kept his hands busy, flipping switched, stabilizing the plane, checking in with the team.
"Why don't you just autopilot?" I asked him.
He shook his head. "I need to do this, make me focus. I want to do it manually, for her, you know?" he flipped another switch.
I nodded. "No shortcuts, I get it." I would've done the same for Sydney. He concentrated I think he was searching for Alex.
"Yeah." He answered my thought. "She's still out of range, but I sense she is close. A few hundred miles. Our limit is 500 miles, then we can't talk." He gripped the yoke tighter and accelerated. We sped through the sky and suddenly I felt his eyes light up.
"I can feel her." He said. "She's alive."
That's all for now!
