Rescue Forever - Chapters Three and Four

Chapter 3 and 4 to the heart-gripping two-sided story. By the way I only write stories, not description!
Chapter Three - Villain

As I ran down the stairs, I stumbled at the bottom but I got back up and ran out the door clutching. My small bright yellow rucksack to my back but he grabbed it from behind I let go as he pulled. So it slipped off my back. I kept running out the rescue parking lot and round the corner, down the alley. I thought, I’d lost him but just to be sure I ran into the nearest supermarket and I ripped my mask off quickly and shoved it into my black jeans pocket. Where was I going to go now, in that I had my purse in, so I have no money to get a bus or taxi home, I’ll just have to walk home. I started walking at home when the rescue patrol car drove past, it stopped beside me, "Hi ya have you seen one female about your height, wearing a plain black hoodie and a mask?" He looked at me for an answer.

"No, I haven’t seen anyone of that description, but will you help me with something. I need to get home but I’ve lost my purse, so I have no money for a bus. Could you lend me some please." I asked in a sickly sweet tone. I looked at him with big round glassy, puppy dog eyes, it seemed to work because he gave me a lift to the bus station and he gave me more than enough money. "Look here you go, there's a ten, and don’t bother about trying to give the change back it doesn’t matter, but if you see anyone of that description call me." He passed me his private work number and I received the money and the number with wry smile. I got into the bus station, when he came running up behind me my fear rolled over me, as he gripped my shoulder, I turned round and faced him, "Sorry, I gave you the wrong work number, here you go see ya round." He turned round and jogged back to the patrol car.

Chapter Four - Koko

Everybody was crowd round me for the rest of the day; it wasn’t fun as I don’t like attention. All day I sat in my chair staring at my computer with people walking past patting me on the back, comforting me and asking me how I was and how it happened. "Koko, why don’t you have the rest of the day off?" Asked Michelle I looked up at her "No, I’m fine thanks!" I replied looking back to my police report and picking up a pen to write with. "It’s an option at the moment Koko; it’ll be an order if you can’t cope though!" I looked towards her, my eyes large and round.

"Yes Michelle, I told you I’m fine, there’s no need to worry." I said, "Okay, take it easy though." Replied Michelle, "Yes Michelle." I responded feeling a little irritated, they always had to keep looking after me and just because I am the youngest in the unit. Michelle strode over to Dylan and said, "Keep an eye on her, yeah!" Dylan nodded I was really annoyed, as I could hear every word and I could see her as she went round the room and his reply.

I grabbed the yellow rucksack for the first time, searching the inside there was a purse inside. I opened the rough leather purse hunting for some sort of ID and there it was, she was called Dana Pearson. Then I remembered that we rescued a David Pearson, but he didn’t pull through the family blamed me and my partner who died soon after the accident, because she couldn’t take it. Apparently the parents of the victim couldn’t cope either and they both committed suicide and left their daughter alone. She must be out to get me I started to panic. "Dylan, look what I’ve found in the rucksack it’s an ID for a Dana Pearson, the sister of that boy who died in that car crash two years ago."

He looked at me with worry, I stared back straight into his eyes wandering what was wrong, in the end I could wait no longer, "What is it? What’s wrong, what have I said?" He looked at me took my shoulders, clutching them tight, "Dana Pearson went missing three months ago, countless have assumed she’s dead." He replied. I looked at him "But.." except before I could finish he butted in, "Just because it’s her ID it doesn’t mean it’s her though, but it is a possibility, we’ll give it to the police in evidence anyway." I watched my fingers twist with the strap of the bag, I got up and walked down the stairs and to get some fresh air, feeling slightly woozy. I was so sure it was her and I still am, who else would purposely strangle me and knock me out for no reason.

I walked over to the patrol car and slipped in, I gripped the steering wheel tightly making my knuckles as white as a sheet. I drove around the roundabout and going right through the red light I stopped outside 24 Albert Lane. I jumped out of the patrol car and paced down the crazy paved overgrown path down to the front door. Remembering the last time I walked down this path I started getting anxious again. I knocked the door it opened slowly from the other side, it was Dana dread gushed over me.

I grabbed my mobile from my pocket and shoved it towards my ear. I pressed speed dial, turned round so my back was towards Dana. I waited for it to ring, "Hi Dylan, can you come down to 24 Albert Lane, I think I might need your help." I turned off the phone before he could answer, I turned round but Dana had shut the door in my face. Dylan contacted me over the radio, "Koko, do you need the police?" I clutched the radio to reply "Yes, are you on the way though?" I let go of the radio, propped on my shoulder and waited for his reply, "Yeah I’m just round the corner I’ll be there in less than twenty seconds."
