Reports of Tom Brady & Gisele Engagement Greatly Exaggerated

Perhaps it’s easy to excuse the entertainment media for rushing to conclusions about the would-be engagement of New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady and his uber-hot supermodel girlfriend Gisele Bundchen. After all, getting out in front of a potential story is what reporting is all about (or so it seems). Alas, for fans wanting to see the happy couple tie the knot, the two are not engaged. Said Tom Brady Sr., the injured NFL star’s father, "We don’t know a thing about it. Nobody told me. We talked to him and there’s nothing to say. It’s rumor, rumor, rumor. It must be a slow news day."

Other reports echoed that sentiment, to some extent anyway. Said New England Patriots spokesman Stacey James, "I heard the reports of the rumor, but I don’t know if they are true. Tom likes to keep his private life private and I respect that." Meanwhile, Brady likely has other concerns, as his Patriots won their game in Buffalo, NY today but had their playoff hopes dashed when the Baltimore Ravens demolished the Jacksonville Jaguars and the Miami Dolphins held on to win over the New York Jets. Not only that, but Brady’s backup, Matt Cassel, has been so impressive that many are comparing him to a young Brady and, in point of fact, his rookie numbers are actually better than Brady’s were. Uh oh.

Still, with regard to the engagement front, either everyone is playing dumb or there really is no truth to the rumors. Gisele’s twin, Patricia, denied the engagement as well. For our part, we were just happy to learn that there’s another version of Gisele out there, should something happen to the "original."
