Removing Tree Sap from Car

Tree sap can be really frustrating to get rid of from your car. It stays there for a long time and makes your car look black and dirty. Here are a few ways of removing tree sap from car.

Come Christmas and your freshly washed car gets covered in stinky, sticky tree sap. This substance is very difficult to remove from your car, as it does not respond to normal soap solution during car wash. If you let it there for a while, then it turns black and your car looks really dirty. How to remove tree sap from car, is the question most car owners face. However, there are certain ways of removing tree sap from car.

Removing Tree Sap from Car
There are certain solvents which are effective in removing tree sap from car. These may be readily available at your home, as well. Following are a few tips on how to remove tree sap from car.

Nail Polish Remover
Take a fingernail polish remover and pour it on a towel. Allow it to soak completely in the towel. Rub the towel on the tree sap stain in circular movements. Press it really hard against the stain. The chemicals in the nail polish remover will instantly break up the tree sap and clear it off. However, you'll need to wipe off the traces of nail polish remover from the area. For this, mix 1 tsp of baking soda in 1 cup of hot water. Use this solution to clean the affected area. Clean the entire area with a fresh towel before washing the car with a normal soap solution.

Mineral Spirits
Mineral spirits are very effective in removing the tree sap from the car. Dip a towel in some mineral spirit and rub it on the sap stain. Press down hard while you rub it in circular motions. Clean the area with a fresh towel and then again with the mineral spirit. You'll have to repeat the process a couple of times before the stain actually vanishes. Next step is to wash the car with the normal soap solution.

Orange Based Solvent and Children's Molding Clay
Orange based solvents break down the tree sap, while the children's molding clay acts as an abrasive. Pour some orange based solvent and rub the children's molding clay against the stain. Wipe off the excess solvent and children's molding clay with a fresh towel. Clean the affected area with a soap solution.

Automotive Clay
Automotive clay is a new product, which helps to get rid of all types of stains from the surface. It instantly sticks to the surface and pulls off any kind of contamination that is stuck on the surface. It is very effective in removing tree sap from car.

As mentioned before, tree sap turns black and makes your car look dirty. Hence, removing tree sap from car, as soon as possible becomes a must. Dillydallying the cleaning work can ruin the surface of your car and spoil the car paint permanently.
