Removing Skin Tags Yourself

Skin tags do not cause any harm as such, but they can make a person feel uncomfortable about his appearance. Thus, many people prefer to remove them. If you want to remove your skin tags yourself, refer to the article below for effective ways of doing the same.
Extra skin that protrudes on certain parts of the body and looks similar to a mole is called skin tags. Skin tags are also known as acrochordon. Skin tags mostly appear on the neck, shoulders, eyelids or underarms, groin and under the breasts. Skin tags are benign, they are made of skin tissue and have ducts, nerve cells and fat cells within them. They are the only tumors which are not at all harmful, until you try to remove them by harsh means such as cutting. Skin tags do not grow or change after being formed. There might be one or more skin tags on a person's body. Pregnant women, obese people, old people and diabetics generally have skin tags; skin tags can also be hereditary. There is no fixed reason why skin tags grow, but it is said that the friction of the increased or extra fat is one of the skin tag causes. That holds true in case of obese people and pregnant women.

How You Can Remove Skin Tags On Your Own

Skin tags should not be cut or pulled, as they can bleed and cause infections. Instead use the following skin tags removal methods which are natural and do not cause any harm.

Castor Oil: Add castor oil and baking soda in a bowl and stir the mixture. When it forms a paste, apply it on skin tags three times a day. The skin tags will dry out and fall down, generally after two weeks. This method of skin tags removal with castor oil does not have any side effects.

Nail Polish: All you have to do is, apply nail polish on the skin tag twice a day and the skin tag will vanish with the drying nail polish! But you will have to repeat the method for about two weeks, which I don't think is difficult at all. This skin tags removal with nail polish also does not have side effects.

Duct Tape: You can use a duct tape to remove skin tags yourself. Put a duct tape around the skin tag for at least two days, after a few days, the skin tag will fall off. Using a duct tape is a skin tag home remedy. Duct tape stimulates the skin to push out the skin tag. So after a few days, when we remove the duct tape, the skin tag falls off as well.

Tea Tree Oil: Apply tea tree oil to the skin using a cotton ball for more than three days continuously and you will see the difference. After about three days, the skin tag will fall off. Tea tree oil is not harmful for the skin; in fact it is beneficial. It is mainly used in beauty products. Tea tree oil is an easy way of skin tags removal. You can also use apple cider vinegar for skin tag removal. The method of application is same as that of tea tree oil.

Dental Floss: Removing skin tags naturally is possible with dental floss. Dental floss is widely used for skin tag removal. Tie dental floss to the base of the skin tag, remember, dental floss should be tied very tightly to the bottom of the skin tag. Do not keep it lose, else your efforts won't be of much use. Don't touch the dental floss for the next three-four days. After three-four days, you will see that the skin tag has turned black and fallen off. This happens because, by tying a dental floss around the skin tag, we stop the supply of blood to it, due to which the skin tag falls off. Many people suggest cutting the skin tag after tying the dental floss, but doing so is not advisable, as it causes excessive blood loss which can lead to infections. Also do not use plain thread as it may not be sterilized and may lead to infections. Do not use the dental floss method for skin tag on groins and other delicate body parts.

Dermisil: Using dermisil for skin tags is another way of skin tag removal. Dermisil products have natural extracts of dermisil. Apply dermisil for a couple of days, it will help the skin tag to dissolve.

In addition to these, there are a few more ways for removing skin tags, such as a wart remover; there are chances of bleeding in such cases though. However, if you insist on using wart removers, it is better to consult a dermatologist before using it.
