Removing Brown Stains from Carpet

Do you have a light beige or cream colored carpet? Do you have brown stains that popped-up out of nowhere? Have you wondered how they got there? Do you want to know how to remove them? Here we are going to talk about these issues and the solutions to resolve them.
First, where do these brown stains come from? Well, the majority of brown stains are caused by moisture! Where does the moisture come from? Surprisingly enough, some stains are caused by small cracks in the homes foundation. Through time, water seeps through the cracks and is soaked-up by the carpet padding where it sits causing brown stains.

The browning is from dirty water, dirt and soil from the carpet padding and saturation time! Others are caused by drink spills that are not properly cleaned up causing dirt build-up through time. Also, there is the occasional stain you might not be aware of!

The brown color is typically the beginning stage and the color will darken as the stain grows older. The size of the stain depends on the water retention rate in your padding or sub-floor. If the floor is not treated or sealed the stain will continue to get worse or return after cleaning. Her are some tips on cleaning brown stains from carpet.

It's possible the brown stains will not be removed completely until floor is sealed and carpet padding is replaced.

Things you will need:

Carpet Fiber Rinse (Warm Water, Woolite, Vinegar)
Wet/Dry Vacuum
Toothbrush
5 Gallon Bucket
White Cloth (2)
Spray Bottle

Follow these steps:

First, you need to mix the cleaning solution in the 5 gallon bucket. Use 3 gallons warm water, 1/2 cup woolite and 1/4 cup white distilled vinegar (for browning). Stir well!

Next, pour solution into spray bottle. Use spray bottle to saturate brown stain thoroughly! Agitate with toothbrush for 1-2 minutes. Use a gentle circular motion, so you do not damage the carpet fiber!

This is important! Agitate lightly! Use the wet/dry vacuum to remove solution from carpet. Vacuum thoroughly! The vacuum suction is what does the majority of the cleaning! The solution is a prep-stage. So, vacuum thoroughly! Use the white cloth to finish-up the drying process. Do not rub carpet with cloth, blot carpet with some pressure. Continue this process until desired results are achieved. The browning will be removed.
