Remembering the Holocaust

My class was watching The Diary Of Anne Frank a few days ago. I really liked the movie and the story and I am just making a poem from my prospective on the Holocaust.
They all had a happy life,
before it all started.
They lived in joy and peace.
Until they got departed.

What made them so bad?
Just because they were Jews?
Just because they were different.
There is no need to see them sad.

The Germans came down the streets,
with there guns held up high,
beating Jews to go,
You could hear their footsteps beat.

They got beat and banged up,
Into the trains,
shouted the Germans.
They have had enough.

Cries and screams arouse,
Germans draw their guns,
preparing to fire
at the next sound.

They were taken away to the camp,
assigned a tent.
Given a cup of soup,
and they had to sleep all cold and damp.

Only one cup a day,
of soup they got,
Nothing good in it.
If they wanted to survive it was their only way.

Dead bodies were tossed around,
or cremated,
the unworthy were sent to the gas chambers.
If they didn't go, they would get pushed to the ground.

Their clothes were torn,
they were badly beaten.
Sent hard to work,
Some wish they were never born.

In the end,
Germany surrendered.
Freeing the Jews.
Only so many were dead.

It shows how people can be so cruel.
Remember you can make a difference.
Affecting your life,
or others around you.
