Relieving Stress

Stress is a part of modern life and so are the attempts of relieving stress. Below are some of the ways that I opt for relieving stress myself.
As I have already said - stress has become a part of our lives. We just can't help it, so we have to find ways to deal with it. The causes and symptoms of stress can be infinite. The causes of stress can be various and will vary from person to person. The common causes may be job stress, relationships, health problems, some sort of loss, etc. And the usual symptoms are headaches, lack of sleep, weakening of immune system, etc. Mentioned below are some ways to relieve stress and anxiety that have worked for me. They are general ways and can be easily implemented by a person of any age.

How to Relieve Stress

I am not going to give you any advice or tips for getting rid of stress and anxiety. I am going to share my own ways to relieve stress. These are ways that I have tried successfully myself. Each person is different, so what causes stress in one person may not affect another. Thus, I have suggested some options too. You have to decide what will work for you.

Take a Break
This is the most general and easiest way of dealing with stress at home. Just cut the stress causing thing out of your life. Go on a vacation, take a sabbatical, rediscover your hobbies just get away from the cause of stress. This is not running away, as you are going to deal with the cause but after you have dealt with the stress caused by it. This technique is most useful if your stress is work related. Relieving stress at work gets really tough sometimes. So you have to go away for a while.

Let your Feelings Out
Sometimes, all it takes for effective stress relief is letting out your feelings about the cause of the stress. So cry, scream, hit a punch bag, do whatever it takes just get it out of yourself. Best way to implement this technique is to talk to someone about everything that is going wrong in your life. Pour it all out. This will reduce stress naturally. But if the cause is very private, it is better not to share it with anyone. In such a case try the other ways on this page.

Write
Keep a journal, it won't take more than ten fifteen minutes per day. But it is a very good stress reliever. There are certain problems that you cannot share with even your closest friends. These problems can go into your journal. You will be surprised at how you come with great solutions, to problems that seemed impossible to deal with, once you clear your thoughts and get them in order. This is an effective stress reliever for students.

Exercises
It has been scientifically proven that physical exercises affect your psyche. There are many exercises that are aimed at helping you in reducing stress. You can go for stress relief yoga which is a natural and easy way to reduce stress. There are also some other stress relief activities that you can do if you are not much of a fan of yoga. And if you don't find the time to exercise at all, you can try some stress relief games which are refreshing, along with being fun. Although, don't just start any exercises on your own, join a gym or consult your doctor before starting with any exercise program.

Sex
To start with, sex will take your mind off all your worries and issues causing stress. It has been proven through many researches that sex has a soothing effect on your blood pressure, heart rate, breathing, etc. These are the same things that are badly affected when you are stressed.

Treat Yourself
Just cut off the stressing and depressing stuff from your life. Take some time out to treat yourself with whatever it is that you like. Go for a movie, go to a spa and take a stress relief massage. Another good way to treat yourself is to bring out some childhood hobby and enjoy it. Just press pause on life and appreciate its small wonders.

Some Other Ways
There are some other ways to deal with stress that you can try out. If you are trying to find ways for relieving stress in the workplace, there are some stress relief games at work that you should check out. Music is another stress reliever that many people swear by. Put on some jolly tracks and try to stop the train of thoughts running though your head.

I hope the above methods work for you too. However, every individual is different, and it's his call as to how to relieve stress.
