Reduce Eye Puffiness
Eye puffiness is a common problem, especially among elderly women. However, you can easily reduce eye puffiness, as it is not a problem of serious consequence. Here are a few tips on how to reduce eye puffiness.
How to Reduce Eye Puffiness?
Ice
Ice is the most effective solution to reduce eye puffiness. Wrap a cube of ice in a soft muslin cloth and apply it on the puffy eyes. Alternatively, you can also place a cloth, dipped in ice cold water. Change the cloth when it becomes warm. The first thing you have to do in the morning, when you wake up with puffy eyes, is to wash your eyes with ice cold water. Ice help constrict the blood vessels and prevents them from swelling.
Cold Spoon
You can use cold spoon to reduce eye puffiness. Take 4 spoons and dip them in cold water or place them in refrigerator. Then take two of them out and place on your eyes. When they become warm, exchange them with the other pair. Repeat the process until you see some improvement. Cold spoon also works in a similar fashion to that of an ice cube.
Veggies
Placing a bag of frozen vegetables also helps to reduce eye puffiness. Similarly, placing slices of cucumber also helps a great deal to reduce eye puffiness as well as dark circles under eyes. You can also grate some potato and wrap it in a muslin bag, and then place it on your eyes. Make sure you refrigerate it for some time before placing it over your eyes.
Eggs
Egg whites help to tighten the skin around the eyes and thus help to reduce eye puffiness. Break a couple of eggs and separate egg white for yolk. Apply this egg white with a thin brush, around your eyes. The tightened skin will reduce eye puffiness, by giving it a lift.
Tea Bags
Placing tea bags upon tired, puffy eyes helps to reduce eye puffiness. However make sure the tea bags are refrigerated before placing upon eyes.
Drink Water
As mentioned before, inadequate water for flushing the salts out is the major cause of eye puffiness. Hence, whenever you eat salty food or consume alcohol, make sure you drink ample water to avoid waking up with puffy eyes. To know more, read puffy eyes remedies.
