Rediscovery 19

Gisele suddenly asked, "Why're the police cars following us? Aren't they supposed to be going to London?"
Planting a kiss on Gisele's hand, Kyle answered theatricaly, "You forget my dear that Vicky too will be arrested. She's 19 so she'll go through a full trial!"
While Keith, who was in the same car laughed, Monique turned to Winny, "This must be hard for you. I mean she's a bitch but she is family."
Winny answered with a slight frown on her face as Andrew squeezed her hand, "She is family so it is weird. But Monique, she's unstable. Had Andrew not come across that sheet, we'd all probably be in that house bleeding to our deaths. I feel sorry FOR her because her own stupidity got her into this. But I can't be saintly enough to be sorry ABOUT her going to jail!"
Andrew smiled. All he wanted to do was kiss his darling silly, but that wasn't possible with one hand on the steering wheel.
Keith snickered, "I should've brought ear plugs, there's going to be a lot of screaming when we get there!"
Laughing loudly, partly from tension and partly from relief, they reached home.
While the police made a beeline for the house, a very romantic scene from a broadway musical that was never made was played out. One by one, as the same thought occurred to the men, they picked up the girls. Winny squealed as the others emitted similar sounds in various pitches.
A worried looking Jeffery let them in, "I'm so glad all of you are home safe!"
Vince cajoled," Are you? Then maybe you could rustle up a snack for us!"
Smiling Jeffery headed to the kitchen to rustle up what would be a veritable feast.
They reached the living room just in time to see Vicky being dragged down screaming and screeching by two officers.
Not waiting to talk, they hauled her away as she flung curses at the occupants of the room.
The Chief came up to them, "The girl may get off lightly because she’s young and from what it appears mentally ill. But Doyles is going to be in jail for a long time coming. There were several cases of molestation and misconduct all of which were never proved. With this, we’ll be able to rustle up those charges as well."

Winny, having shown the officer out said, "We'll go change and join you guys here."
Raven's mock strangled voice came, "I couldn't bear the separation." Laughing the girls glided up the stairs to Winny's room, the excitement of the night still fuelling them.
As soon as the door was closed, Nandini turned with a serious expression on her face, "I'm going to Harvard in September. Something clicked while we were here. Raven just told me he's going to function from the US for a while if I'm willing to pursue the relationship. I said yes!"
Winny flew to her friend and held her close, "I'm so happy for you!" But Nandini was looking at a point beyond Winny with a slight smile on her face, "I think you out to save it for later!"
Winny turned just as Helena started speaking," Well. Um. . . . . Vince is going to Harvard with us so. . . . . It’s worked out for us."
Gisele blushed as all eyes turned to her for her status," My turn? Kyle's in London, so out of my choices of LSEPS and Yale, I chose London."
Elaine, "Oh well. Ethan and I worked out too! We're going to Princeton. Mom and Dad are going to be disappointed that I didn't take to one Chinese boy. But Ethan's as good as they get."
Now that was saying a lot! Because Elaine was by far the most reclusive.
Winny nudged Monique, "What's your story?"
Monique rolled her eyes, "I only chose Keith after very close assessment of his circumstances. So obviously, I only got with him after I knew he goes to art school in Paris. I didn't have to face all these adjustment issues like the rest of you!"
Winny laughed, "I'll bet Keith can see right through the tough bitch act. Face it, you're as romantic as the rest of us. All these claims of sensibility superior to ours is just a facade.You fell for Keith the moment you laid those eyes on him!"
Grinning from ear to ear the girls dressed and flounced to the living room.
Winny made a beeline for Andrew who'd passed out on the couch. Slowly, she shifted him, and placed his head on her lap. The conversation revealed that the guys too had had a similar conversation since they were well informed of each other's intentions. At one point Helena laughed aloud, "For all your pretense, you guys gossip like old hens too you know!" her comment was met by murmurs of agreement and shouts of protest.
Nandini had taken a leaf out of Andrew's book and was fast asleep cradled in Ravens arms who looked supremely delighted by the circumstance.
Jeffery walked in," Mary’s laid out some refreshments in the dining hall. So if you. . . . ."
The announcements were met shouts of eagerness; Keith even hugged Jeffery around the middle.
Winny slowly stroked Andrew's head trying to wake him up, but to no avail.
Seeing her plight, Vince and Keith walked over to their cousin and muttered some advice into her ear, and quickly herded everyone out so she could put it to use.
Bending down to Andrew's ear, Winny muttered, "Wake up Andrew. I'm naked!"
THAT had almost immediate effect as Andrew sprang awake and Winny slid off the couch laughing!
Andrew was running his hair through his hand and saying, "I dreamt you were saying you're naked."
Red with laughter Winny choked out, "It wasn't a dream, I did say it. (Noticing the questioning look on his face) Keith and Vince said it would wake you up because calling you wasn't helping!"
Andrew pulled her close into an earth shattering kiss and spoke against her lips,"You definitely woke me up darling!"

Winny and Andrew eventually did make it to the dining hall, half an hour later after a visit to Winny's room.
Keith whistled, "I see you managed to wake him up!"
Ignoring the pun, Winny eyed the table and winked at Jeffery, "You are growing old. Your vocab's messed up. This is a feast not snacks!" The midnight meal ended at 6 in the morning when two cars pulled up.
Adam and Annabel rushed out of the first car and the twins and Annette and Linda from the second.
Winny flew down into her parents, arms who hugged her and kissed her.
Annabel then proceeded to administer the same treatment to the other girls.
Laughing as Annabel scrutinized every bit of exposed skin on the girls, Nandini said, "No blood no bruise!"
Adam meanwhile was briefing Andrew and Raven about the proceedings in London.
Doyles was in for atleast 4 years in jail. Vicky, would also be subject to 2 years in prison plus one year in a mental health facility. Apparently even her mother had been taken into custody because she hit two officers at the station while her husband slept in the waiting area!
Annette and Linda had taken over the job of fussing over the girls. Winny widened her eyes in horror, "Now there'll be three more Alisa's in the house. Thank god for college or I'll always have someone trying to force broth down my throat to cure an imaginary cold."
The twins laughed, "No wonder you roped Andrew in so quickly. He's going to hold us all off is he?"
Winny laughed, "He’s a hero! All he has to do is start wearing his underpants over his trousers."
Andrew looked heavenward, "That’s what I get for saving her skin!"
Rafe teased, "Always was an ungrateful cretin."

(Two weeks later)
(Winny’s friends’ve left by the way, too exhausting keeping them all in the story)

Jonathan and Susan stood in the foyer surrounded by bags. Suan was hugging Winny, "You’ve had an interesting time while we were away!"
Winny laughed," Not nearly as interesting as the twins though, can you believe the stunt they pulled?"
Michael turned up his nose in the air and said, "Its not advisable to spend indiscriminately in times of recession. We were aiding world economy by having a small wedding."
Winny rolled her eyes, "Have it your way. But if you had spent money, you’d have employed more people, thus generated income and thus helped the economy instead of hurting it."
Jacob added," So there, bonehead!" And followed them into the living room and Adam and Jonathan laughed at Michaels’s silly expression.

Susan, Alisa, Annette and Linda were in a tight huddle, each talking more loudly than the other creating a din.

Later in the day, Andrew walked into the family bedlam. Laughing as he was drawn into three different conversations all at once, he drew Winny aside," Keep yourself free tomorrow. We start early. I need to show you something."

Winny looked at him quizzically," Where’re we going?"

Andrew smiled secretively," You’ll see!"

Winny pouted," Are you going to fly me to some other country?"

Andrew laughed," Not this time! We’re going to stay within national territory and we travel by car!"

Winny,"And there I was dreaming of Austria in the moonlight!"

Andrew ignored the jibe as he leaned close, "That could be arranged you know. But not for tomorrow."

Winny moaned, "You’re not going to tell me are you?"

Andrew conjured up a funny ‘thinking’ look on his face only to say, "No"

Planting a chaste kiss, given heavy family presence, he swiftly left the house, leaving behind a hot trail of curiosity!
