Rediscovery 16

Wedding day!
Hey guys. This is a short and slightly boring chapter, but I had to get the wedding over with you know!
--

Andrew and Kyle stared at the group in front of them.

Dressed identically in denim mini skirts and matching red halter necks, the girls were hugging and crying oblivious to the fact that they were in the Heathrow airport.

Kyle whistled, "You must be pretty sad you're near shackled, each girl looks better than the other!"

Andrew smiled at the younger man's assessment, "Sure, but I'm cool. I'm pretty certain I got the best of them. And be careful man, if Winny's anything to go by, their IQs are much much huger than their looks quotient. But you'll be fine, given you're in Law school."

Just then, Winny turned and marched the group over to the two guys who were instantly nervous by the overwhelming female presence. Winny curled an arm around Andrew's middle and said," Girls this is Andrew Thorton and this is Kyle, Susan's brother. Guys these are my friends, Monique, Elaine, Nandini, Helena and Gisele."

Andrew felt hot around the collar as he was subjected a calculative stare by the five girls.

Nandini spoke, "He seems okay."

All five pairs of eyes turned to Kyle who blushed furiously, "I now know what a piece of meat feels at the butchers."

The entire group laughed, the ice broken and made their way to the parking lot.

They split up, Winny, Andrew, Nandini and Monique in one car and Kyle, Gisele, Elaine and Helena in the other. With unaccustomed ease, both cars pulled out of London and they were on their way home.

* * *

They'd just got out of the cars and were stretching, when four figures tumbled out of the house and ran towards the stable.

Kyle muttered to Andrew, "I'll bet my car that its the she-devil's work." Helena asked, "She devil?"

Winny answered, "Vicky."

This announcement was followed by loud groans from the girls.

Gisele mourned, "She made that summer here hell you know."

Elaine laughed, "But Monique set her right, didn't she?"

While the others laughed, Kyle asked curiously, "What exactly did she do?"

Nandini, with a perfectly complacent expression said, "She pushed her into the pool."

As both the men laughed, Jeffery, opened the door to let them in and smiled as the girls greeted him warmly.

Even though Jeffery tried to maintain a stiff upper lip, everyone knew he was as gooey as treacle behind his starched shirt front.

Annabel and Adam were in the living room waiting for the girls. As they hugged, and exchanged news, Andrew turned to Winny, "I think I'll go home now. I’ve got some contracts to look over. I'll come back in the evening. "

Winny's face fell. Staying away from Andrew was difficult, but she knew she couldn't be joined to him at the hip at all times.

Andrew gently lifted her chin with a knuckle and smiled down at her when Helena spoke up, "You guys can take your time saying goodbye outside!"

Nandini winked, "Yeah, we'll just go to your room and set the stage for a long haul"
Both extremely good decision makers Andrew and Winny were out in a trice.

Coming up for air, Andrews thumbs skimmed over the skin exposed at Winny's waist when she'd put her arms around his neck,"You know I hate your friends."

Winny's mouth opened in protest, but was silenced as Andrew planted a kiss, "They decided on this bizarre dress code and honestly, its been driving me crazy all morning."

Winny buried her head in his shoulder as he continued planting kisses on her exposed shoulder.

She murmured, "You'll be back in the evening won't you?"

Bestowing one last kiss, Andrew walked away saying, "Wild horses won't keep me away."

Winny had just walked into the foyer to find all her friends peeking from behind an alcove with suppressed grins on their faces.

Not the least bit surprised she said, "Come on, I'll give you all the gory details."

* * *

Tired though the girls were from their long flight, they took showers and dressed up to join the family and guests for dinner.

Dressed in similar sheath dresses, just in different colors, they trooped down to the living room.

Andrew was standing near one of the windows with Alex in his arms talking to Jacob and Jonathan while the women were deep in conversation about the flower arrangements.

Alisa was the first to notice their entry, "So it took all of you four hours to come see us. I was the one who took you for highlights you know!" The girls went about hugging Alisaa, Susan, Linda and Annette, whom they'd met on previous visits.

They shook hands politely with Susan's mom.

Jacob teased as he walked over, "All of you are still color coded I see!"

Rolling her eyes Gisele shot back, "And you're a father of a darling baby and still a butthead big brother!"

The entire room burst into laughter.

By now Elaine had taken possession of Alex. A happy baby, he was content, no matter who held him, as long as he was fussed over. Adam walked in with Susan's father and Uncle Mark.

The twins swaggered in, Sean and Shaun trailing behind with hero worship written on their faces. How they managed it was a secret, but there you have it!

"Oi! They're here!" remarked Rafe.

"Let the international summit begin!" laughed Michael.

Grinning Nandini asked, "Yeah yeah. Old joke. But why were you guys fleeing to the stable when we arrived today?"

Shaun spoke up, "We were just being helpful. Rafe and Michael made a list of all the men Vicky was supposed to stay away from. It even had PICTURES to help. But she got really mad when we gave it to her and threw shoes at us."

The laughter that followed this serious speech was interrupted by a screech. Vicky had arrived.

It was going to be a long evening.

Adam, who’d come up behind the girls murmured, "There’s no swimming pool in the dining hall, but you can make use of the water in your glass if need be. I won’t be the one protesting."

* * *

The sky was a bright azure and everything seemed washed clean and fresh.

A perfect day for a wedding.

Exhausted, the girls had fallen asleep early that night. As a result they were up and about early on the day of the wedding.

Showered and wrapped in robes with all their paraphernalia in their arms, they trooped up to the big guest room on the third floor which'd been converted to a dressing room for the wedding.

Susan was sitting in front of the dresser with a petrified expression on her face while Alisa was commandeering Linda and Annette.

Winny swooped down and kissed Susan on the cheek, "We're not that bad a family you know, smile a little!"

Susan smiled and squeezed Winny's hand.

Alisa determined not to let any professional into what she considered was a strictly family affair, came up armed with different hair brushes and pins.

Conjuring an evil smile she said, "Let the war begin. And the rest of you, don't sit about. Get changed!"

* * *

Two hours later, Annabel, May and Sarah (Susan's mother) stood stunned at the sight before them.

It was like a beautifully synchronized musical.

Winny's friends, in a uniform of grey silk off shoulder Vera Wang gowns, with wide pink sashes emphasizing their waists, literally danced away from centre stage to reveal the brides maids.

The golden- pink gowns gleamed in the sunlight. The only ornaments the girls wore were fresh scarlet roses from the hothouse in their hair and bosoms held by spectacular diamond pins.

With soft smiles on their faces, they skimmed away in their satin heels to reveal the bride.

Standing there, flushed with excitement and yet nervous, Susan looked radiantly beautiful.

The older women embraced her gently, conveying all the feelings for which they had no words.

Winny mumbled, "The bride hath paced into the hall,

Red as a rose is she"

* * *

The church was redolent with the smell of fresh flowers.

Jonathan stood tall at the altar with his brothers and Andrew next to him, waiting for his wife.

Winny led the brides maids down the aisle.

Winny flashed Andrew and her brothers a smile as she took her place at the altar.

Andrew's breath caught.

One of life's great ironies! If he kept this up everytime her saw Winny in a new piece of clothing, he'd die young and never be able to grow old with her.

Her slender body encased in the golden pink gown, looked so stunning that all he wanted to do was take her out of it!

By the time he'd got his rampant thoughts in control, the bride had started down the aisle.

Jonathan's eyes were moist. Curse being manly. He probably wouldn't remember the rest of the ceremony, but he would carry this image of his bride.

His heart nearly burst with joy as Susan put her gloved hand in his. As he turned, he caught his baby sister's eye, whose tears were flowing freely, Winny winked at him, pushing out more tears and they all turned to the priest to take their vows as man and woman. "Dearly beloved, we are gathered here today. . . . . ."

The man and wife kissed and a cheer went up. As they made their way down the aisle to the car waiting to take them to the reception, Jonathan and Susan were showered with red, white and pink rose petals from strategically placed holdings above.

Andrew took Winny's hand as they walked out of the church, "Need I say it?" Winny pressed her lips to his hand and said, "Nah! My heads far up in the clouds anyway!"

* * *

Jonathan took Susan in his arms and led her into the first dance. Sure Monsieur jean had worked miracles on Jonathan, but his current finesse had nothing to do with training, guided by love Susan and Jonathan whirled around the dance floor, while Monsieur Jean wailed, "I TOLD them to keep a distance of two inches in between!"

But nobody really gave a damn.

* * *

As the young people sat about eating lunch and cracking not so nice jokes about wedding nights, Sean and Shaun came up to the table. Sean asked, "Jacob, can we let Vicky out now?"

Jacob started, "Let Vicky out? What do you mean?"

Shaun answered, "Out of the broom closet of course!"

Monique started, "Why is she in the broom closet?"

Sean rolled his eyes, "For people so old, you guys are really slow. Linda and Winny were murmuring that it would be nice if Vicky could be locked up for the wedding. So we did. Well not the wedding, we woke up too late for that, but we did manage to lock her in for the reception!"

Surprised though they were, none of them were really in a hurry to let the psychopath out, so they tried to draw out more information as Kyle asked, " How’d you manage to get her into the broom closet?"

Sean beamed, "Simple, we set up a human rattrap. We put a man in the closet for bait!"

With a half smile Andrew asked, "And who was this poor man?"

Shaun answered, "Lord Doyles. Mom said, he’d attackd Winny once!"

Jonathan laughed, "Two birds with one stone!"

Elaine frowned, "I’m trying really hard to feel sorry for her. But I just can’t!"

The table burst into gales of laughter.

Alisa made to get up, "We should go and let her out. I mean, we’re really too old for all this and the joke’s gone too far!"

Alas, all good things do come to an end!

Much as they’d enjoyed the idea of letting Vicky stew, good sense could be a little overpowering at times.

Grace- I do love the name Grace. I’m using it for my third story, but for the second one, I drew lots and a different name came out ( Can’t reveal it!) And a million more chapters isn’t happening! Then I’ll be writing about ET descendents of Andrew and Winny!

Gianna- Thanks sooo much for the comments. I’m 17 years 7 months! Yeah and I’m in my final year of high school!.

Megan- I won’t provide false comfort by saying I know how it feels to lose someone, because I don’t, and it would be really hypocritical of me. But I do identify with the solidarity that family provides in the face of such disasters.

Sean and Shaun are pronounced the same way, that’s the fun part! Its fun when you read it, but never try naming your kids that way!

Emily- So far my exams are going great. Just one more to go! And thanks for all the comments!

And also thanks to
CSI, Jeli Gregory, Piyal, Alyssa, Vickie, Tish, Latoya , Katie B. ,ishi &J. D.

I know this chapter was slow and boring, but please comment and let me know what YOU want should happen next. I have a brief outline, but I’ll modify it accordingly. So if you want the next chapter out tomorrow, you’d better tell me what you want today!

Love
