Redecorating on a Tight Budget it Can Be Done!

Information on redecorating your home and not over spending.
Nearly every homeowner can agree that, every now and then, you just need to redecorate. Your old decor may start to look tired and lived in and spending time in those rooms may make you feel the same way. Sometimes all it takes is new colors or fresh paint to give your home a fresh feel.

Unfortunately, there is not always a great deal of extra cash lying around to accomplish this with. Don't give up though; redecorating does not always mean that you have to hire contractors. There are many ways you can spruce up a room that will not cost you a lot of money.

A can of spray paint can do wonders and is very inexpensive. You can use a single color to link old items such as picture frames or baskets. This not only brightens the atmosphere but it will give your room a coordinated look.

Stencils are another great way to add a little life to an item or wall. They can be picked up at any craft store and they will enable you to easily create interesting borders on your walls or update the look of older furniture. You can also easily create your own patterns using masking tape; just be sure that the tape is not going to damage the finish.

Out of date calendars are a great source for pictures. Often calendars are filled with stunning photographs or amusing cartoons. By picking up cheap frames at a dollar or discount store you can turn those old calendars into wall art.

Old clothing can be a great redecorating trick. Most clothing can fairly easily be converted into pillow covers. Attractive throw pillows are sometimes all you need to give an older sofa a new look.

Spend time at local yard sales and flea markets. Usually you can pick up picture frames, baskets and other decorative items for next to nothing. Sometimes you can even find beautiful old glassware that can enhance any shelf or windowsill.

Another way to liven up a windowsill is to add houseplants. These can be picked up very cheaply and can be beautiful to look at all by themselves. To add to their appeal, you can replant them in some of the glassware you find at the flea markets.

Hanging plants can also do wonders for the feel of a room. Their gracefully flowing leaves and stems can be very attractive. Houseplants have the additional advantage of refreshing your home by pulling in carbon dioxide and releasing fresh clean oxygen.

Sometimes all it takes to improve the feel of a room is a change of lighting. Harsh bright lights can make a room feel so cold. Try using soft lighting or even add a touch of color.

These are just a few ways that you can give any room in your home a quick face lift. With a little bit of money and some ingenuity you can redecorate on even the tightest of budgets. Have some fun with it; your home will thank you for it.
