The Confession
While I was sleeping, I heard knocking, talking, and a door closing. After that, I had sat up in the bed to see what was going on. Julian turned to me. "We’re about to land." he said. "Okay." I said calmly as I got of bed. He gave me a confused look. "What is wrong with you?" he asked. "Nothing." I said as I was gathering my stuff. When I had my shoes on and my bags in my hands I started for the door. I was almost at the doorframe until Julian’s hand was on it so his arm would be blocking my way. I sighed and looked at him. "We’re about to land," I said. "Do you want to do this now?" Julian looked at me with an angry glare. He growled then put his arm down so I could get through.
After we landed, we saw a black Citroen C-Metisse Concept outside. After Julian put our bags away in the trunk, he was the first one to run to the driver’s side. I rolled my eyes. Such a guy, I thought. When I got into the car, I noticed that there was a GPS system on the dashboard. "What are we going to do, drive there?" I asked. "Yep!" Julian answered. Then, he sped off! He was driving so fast that if I wasn’t dead, I would really need my seatbelt on! After two sharp turns and one jumped curb, the car finally settled down. It was oddly quiet between us. I kept feeling Julian’s eyes dart to me and back to the road. Then all of a sudden, Julian slammed on the brakes, putting the car to a stop. If it wasn’t for my arm I would’ve slammed my face into the dashboard. I just sat there wide-eyed looking at the road. Thank goodness there weren’t any cars on that part of the road, I wonder why? Julian sighed and sat back in the seat. "We have to talk." he said.
"About what, your driving skills?" I yelled. "You know what I’m talking about." He said while looking at the windshield. I groaned. "Look if it’s about last night, I am not upset just……..flabbergasted!" I said. I looked at the clock on the dashboard; it was 9:10 am. "That’s not the point," Julian paused to look at me. "The point is that you walked away like nothing happened!" "Nothing did happen, and if something did happen, we would’ve had this conversation long before now!" I added. "It was a kiss it meant nothing!" "It did to me!" Julian yelled back. He turned to where his whole body faced me. "If you knew half of what I feel about you, like you said we would’ve had this conversation long before now." he said. I pointed to the scar on my jaw that he gave me. He rubbed it with his thumb and looked at me. "Did you think I wanted to do that?" he asked. I looked away. "It was self-defense." I answered. He turned my head around so that I was looking at him. "What was I supposed to do?" he questioned. I shrugged. He sighed. "If I told you how I felt when I met you, you’d probably freak out and kill me anyway!" he said.
He was still looking at me. I looked at him and said, "What was I supposed to say if you did, that I feel the same way?" He turned back around towards the dashboard. He had one hand on the wheel and the other on the gear shift. Before he put it in drive, I had put my hand on top of his and put my chin on his shoulder. He looked at me with soulful eyes. "Because I do." I whispered. I smiled at him, he smiled back. Just as he was going to lean in and kiss me I said, "Now, if you don’t mind I would like to leave this road before tomorrow." I sat back in my seat. Because this road is starting to freak me out, I thought. In a matter of seconds, we were off to meet the mystery person.
I looked at the dashboard……it was 9:30 am.
