Allergy
An allergy is one of the major reasons for the occurrence red rash. Contact dermatitis is a common rash which is caused due to contact with objects with which one is allergic to. Allergies of certain drugs can also cause light red rash all over body. No specific drug causes allergy, some people are allergic to some specific drug, while others may face no problem with it.

Eczema
Eczema is a condition in which the skin becomes irritated or inflamed. The most common type of eczema is 'atopic', a word that refers to diseases that can be hereditary. Eczema occurs and reoccurs, is not contagious and is hardly caused due to some specific allergy.

Measles
Measles occurs mostly in children. The rash developed due to measles is known as measles rash. It starts appearing after other symptoms such as fever, cough, sore throat, reddening of eyes, etc. The measles rash, which is red in color, first appears on the face and ears mostly and then spreads to the rest of the body within a few days. But sometimes, bumpy red rashes are also seen.

Hives
Hives, known as urticaria in medical terms, are red welts that are generally itchy. They also occur, disappear and reappear like eczema. Raised, warm, itchy areas are one of the major symptoms of hives. This rash tends to appear suddenly on any part of the body, lasts for a few hours and disappears as suddenly as it had come. Hives are said to be caused due to the allergens in the environment.

Ringworm
Ringworm is a fungal infection resulting from a microscopic organisms known as dermatophytes. Red rash all over the body can be caused by ringworm also. The red rash in case of ringworm is a bit different from regular red rashes. The ringworm rash is circular and inflamed on the edges, with normal skin in the middle. It does not generally spread, but it can spread all over the body if the person has low immunity or does not maintain hygiene.

Red Rash Treatment
The treatment for red rash all over the body depends on the cause and differs with the condition. If the reason for the red rash is allergy, there won't be a need of medical treatments. Staying away from the allergens is a treatment itself. For eczema, one will have to consult a doctor as he will suggest special eczema treatments and creams. Measles has become very rare now, as measles vaccine has been invented long back, but it is necessary to vaccinate infants to keep them away from it. Anti-itch creams or antihistamines can provide instant relief. If the rash is not secreting any liquid, moisturizing creams can also provide relief.

Most of the rashes are not very dangerous, but it also depends upon one's resistance power and the nature of the rash. If the rash is caused due to a specific condition like eczema, it is better to consult a doctor. Other rashes generally heal on their own. Take care!
