Reconnecting With First Love

It's said that you never forget your first kiss and first love, and there are many of us who have thought about reconnecting with first love to see how it would be now. So read on...
Stories of eternal love and lovers who overcome great odds to be together have fascinated generations. The enigma of love is so over powering that everyone seems to get pulled in whether they like it or not. Almost everyone has fond memories of their first love and have pondered over reconnecting with first love once or more in our lonely times. There were times when it was almost blasphemous to consider loving again, there was only one true first love and then there were times of the great lover Don Juan Casanova, who believed in loving all women that took his fancy. The tales of love between Cleopatra and Marc Anthony still cause a flutter in the hearts of the young.

We grow up on fairy tale romances and love stories in which love conquers all, we believe in this and envisage a happy ending for ourselves. Eyes meet, hearts flutter and two people from different axis are pulled together as if by some cosmic power that does everything in its power to push them into each others arms. The first kiss is unforgettable. It's almost like an explosion of happiness which we want to experience again and again but alas! It only happens once for most of us. The first time we are enamored by someone, we become powerless over our feelings and just surrender our will to this person who we have never met before. In many spiritual books it's mentioned that with complete surrender you experience bliss and I guess that is what happens when we fall in love with someone for the first time. Our mind has a strange attachment with most of the first things in our lives - we seem to care more about our first car than anything in the world, or seem to be strangely connected to the place we went on our first holiday. For most people, this is our grandparents' home. The first romance is etched in our memory and time seems to add layers of memories on it with each revolution of the earth, but at times there is a volcanic eruption which shakes the memory layers and obsessive love addiction and thoughts of reconnecting with first lost love resurface.

We do not live in a world of sacrifices and fairy tale romances that always have happy endings, with the lovers riding into the sunset. They say time heals everything, but it is time that reminds us of past bliss and sweet moments we shared with that someone special. These are the times when we think about reconnecting with first love and forget everything that is around us, to be with that person who we think will make everything better. Mass hysteria is a term that can best explain what thousands of people feel when the thought of first love comes into their mind. Some of the triggers of the thought of, reconnecting with first love are:

Music: Almost everyone has a love song which they share with their first love and every time it is replayed our mind drifts to the memory center where we have stored some fond memories of our past. The pleasure seeking nature of our mind carries us into a dream like world which we want to experience and feel can be experienced with only that person from our past.

Places: Spending hours in a deserted field or an isolated spot in the woods oblivious to the surroundings or responsibilities was truly magical. The experience was so seductive that we did it again and again, and the times we spent with our first love has been etched in our memories forever. A chance visit to such places or a subconscious decision to pass by old hangouts can bring about an over whelming feeling of reconnecting with first, lost love.

No one knows what makes the mind wander and they say you cannot reign it in, it is free and will always be that way. If the mind cultivates the thoughts of reconnecting with first love, all we can do is saddle up and enjoy the ride.
