Recommended Books for Young Adults

I have always searched for answers to questions plaguing my mind in books (it requires lots of patience, though). You may call it a positive type of escapism. When relentless worries and endless streams of thoughts stroll the mind uninterrupted, making my life miserable, I resort to a book, in a desperate attempt to turn myself into a shouting optimist within an hour, or so. Getting lost in a library of books, that houses some timeless experiences, wisdom and knowledge since time immemorial, gives me a gratification that possibly, even I can't explain (Nor can any voracious book reader. Right?). Least awareness about some good book recommendations in my college years, seems a huge loss, to be very frank. Although having read some classics in my school years, my inclination in later years turned towards reading self help books, that when I view in retrospect, has only loaded my mind with lots of tips, techniques, principles and fundamentals to live life.

Sudden catastrophic turns of life have frequently proved, experience is the best teacher and what is precisely written in self help books, though is useful, its understanding comes, only through life experiences. While I have been able to free myself from loads of expectations that self help books bring in life, I have rediscovered my reading joy, after having been introduced to some phenomenal science thrillers and fiction books, in the adult years of my life.

In retrospect, the reader in me has modified, matured, to be precise. Now, I'm able to decipher every word of Dale's Carnegie's, 'How to Stop Worrying and Start Living', that in my high school years, seemed nothing more than trash. Though, I'm proud to have bought it in the teenage years, from my pocket money, that was nothing but peanuts. From the phenomenal 'The Kite Runner' to 'Harry Potter Series; everything is now more meaningful, more transparent and more beautiful. Every novel, every book and every word now appears in a new perspective.

It may be initially very difficult to switch from a favorite genre to something new, but it can be great to reinvent your reading habit and to explore a new field.
