Recipe for Spicy Stir Fried Beef
A recipe for cooking delicious Thai food at home.
Thai food is renowned for being delicious and interesting. It is created using five flavours in each dish which make use of spicy, sour, sweet, bitter and salty. Thai food can be tricky to master as the more types of flavors available means more chance of getting it wrong when you're cooking it at home. Here's a recipe for a delicious Spicy beef stir fry to make sure you get it right.
For your ingredients you will need the following.
10 Fresh Bird’s Eye Chilli’, 400 g of Proudfoot’s Topside Of Beef, 6 leaves of Thai holy basil, 6 Black Peppercorns, 1 Cup Of Thai Long Beans Or Green Beans, Oyster sauce – 1 tablespoon, 3 Cloves Of Garli, Sugar - 1½ Tablespoons, Fresh Cooking Oil - 1 Tablespoon, Of Fish Sauce (Nam Pla) - ½ Tablespoon, ½ Cup Of Stock (Beef Or Chicken)
You will need a Mortar and pestle for grinding ingredients and a wok for stir frying.
These are all commonly found in any supermarket so they should be easy enough to pick up. Once you have your ingredients start by grinding the chillies, peppercorns and garlic using the mortar and pestle. Fry these in the wok for a couple of seconds over a medium heat. Then add in some thinly sliced beef and stir fry until the meat is tender. Then just add in the remaining ingredients and fry for an extra three minutes. Serve your meal with thai fragrant rice and for optional garnishes go for lemon, chillie flakes and peanuts. This will give you the taste of an authentic thai meal that you could find in a thai restaurant.
