Reasons to Give Up Alcohol

If you have a habit of consuming alcohol occasionally, it may lead to an increase in frequency. This in turn can lead to a problem like alcohol abuse. Here is a look at some more reasons for you to give up alcohol as soon as possible:

1. The first reason is the hangovers that accompany alcohol abuse and even casual alcohol consumption in most of the people. These are often accompanied by things such as nausea, severe headache and even vomiting. The body is basically giving a signal to give up alcohol, because it is not able to handle it.

2. The second reason to give up alcohol is the impairing of judgment that it causes. Alcohol abuse in most of the cases either leads to accidents or violent reactions from the people concerned.

3. Anyone who is on prescription medicines with an alcohol abuse problem can experience some dangerous effects which can be life threatening also.

4. The regular alcohol abuse leads to the person becoming psychologically dependent on it for survival. This may lead to withdrawal symptoms if a person is not able to drink due to some reason.

5. A pregnant woman with an alcohol abuse problem can expose her unborn baby to a fetal alcohol syndrome. It can cause some severe facial deformities in the baby. It may also cause the child to eventually suffer from problems like a retarded growth and a damaged brain. Such a child may experience various behavioral problems and intellectual difficulties.

6. Alcohol abuse leads to problems like liver failure and heart diseases. Therefore it is necessary to give up alcohol as soon as possible.
