Real Housewives of New York Star Bethenny Frankel is Pregnant

Bethenny Frankel, of "Real Housewives of New York" fame, got engaged to boyfriend Jason Hoppy early in October, and now it has been revealed that she is pregnant with her first child. Frankel wanted to wait a bit to reveal the news, but her status as a television star made it all but impossible and Perez Hilton seems to have forced the issue by discussing Frankel’s pregnancy on his blog. "It’s premature to be telling people this," noted Frankel, who fought back tears as she did so. Oddly, Frankel thought that perhaps she would keep the news a secret for a bit longer.

Said Fankel, "It’s not like, ‘Did I get Botox?’ It’s not the way I wanted it to get out. I haven’t even gone through my first trimester. We haven’t even heard the heartbeat. My [fiancé’s] parents didn’t even know." Still, it appears that the early forced revelation aside, she and Hoppy are quite happy about the news and, according to Frankel, she’s taking everything in stride. "I am praying everything is okay but I don’t know that yet."

Frankel met Hoppy at a nightclub just under a year ago and notes that she’s very happy to have found him. Said Frankel, "We were both complete players. We never thought we would find the right person." Asked about getting pregnant before actually getting married, Frankel said, "I’m no spring chicken. I didn’t think it was going to happen right away. Because of my age, sometimes we weren’t totally careful. I got to be honest, we are both feeling kind of proud of ourselves. We are both 38 and we were like, ‘Listen, your fish can swim and I am fertile.’ So that’s exciting." Yes, it’s quite the accomplishment – procreating in a world facing a massive overpopulation problem. Kudos to Frankel and Hoppy who have now achieved the rare feat of pregnancy.
