Rawleigh Offers a Topical Option for Sore Muscles

If you workout or if you’ve engaged in activities that might strain your body, you may need to find a treatment for sore muscles. Generally, the soreness is caused by damage to the fibers in the muscles. These are torn during the strenuous activities. For muscle builders, this is important because muscles bulk up when they are healing. For others, this tearing just causes pain and decreased mobility. One product by Rawleigh may offer a topical alternative to over-the-counter medications.

The Rawleigh product consists of several ingredients that have a long history as effective folk treatments. While there effectiveness has sometimes been ignored or dismissed by Western medicine, they have been used safely and effectively for decades in parts of the country. Sassafras is one example.

While sassafras has been used internally for the treatment of digestive complaints, it has been successful as a so-called "warming diuretic" as well. In this capacity, the sassafras applied to the skin causes warmth and causes the excessive fluid which is helping cause the sore muscles to drain away from the area.

A similar ingredient in the Rawleigh product is mustard oil. While this oil is most commonly used as a flavoring in the West, its health benefits have been recognized for centuries in countries like India. When applied topically, for example, during a massage, mustard oil causes a deep warming sensation that can help ease the tension in the stiff muscles.

Sore muscles which need to be healed can also benefit from increased blood flow. Ingredients like oil of wintergreen can help in this area. Wintergreen oil can open the capillaries so more blood can flow into the area easily, but it also reduces inflammation by causing mild irritation elsewhere in the area to literally distract the immune system. This is also an ingredient in the Rawleigh product.

Because the product is topical, it can be combined with oral analgesics for increased pain control. However, the oil of cloves included as an ingredient can also help in this area. Clove oil has long been used, even in dentistry, to stop pain topically.

The Rawleigh product contains all-natural ingredients with the exception of synthetic mustard oil. For some users, this is another benefit because they prefer not to use too many chemicals in their treatments – externally or internally. This combination of essential oils may be able to help reduce the pain of sore muscles.

W.T. Rawleigh founded Rawleigh Products in the late 1800s to create a line of "Good Health Products" that possessed both strength and quality. Call # 1-800-992-1089.
