Quick Meals
No matter how passionate you may be about your culinary skills, there are times in everybody’s life when things get too rushed or you simply want to succumb to tiredness after a hard day at work, when you just wish a meal would just materialize. Although materializing cooked meals out of thin air is not one of my skills-sets, with a little ingenuity you can come close to something like that by incorporating quick meal ideas and recipes. One of the best ways is to have a collection of quick meal recipes.

So, when dinner hour is approaching, and you find yourself in a state of comatose stupor, you can just pull out and cook up something in a jiff. If you have children, you can also have a collection of healthy recipes for quick meals for kids. Always make sure to choose a recipe that has ingredients that you know you have in your freezer, fridge, or pantry.

Here are some quick meal ideas and recipes, which, apart from being made in a jiffy, are delicious as well:

Quick Spaghetti with Meatballs

Place fully cooked, frozen meatballs in a baking dish and bake according to the directions given on the package. Then, prepare frozen stir-fry onions and peppers. Heat chunky spaghetti sauce and stir everything into it. Remove from heat and pour over pasta that has been cooked and drained. Top with Romano or Parmesan cheese.

Shrimp on Couscous

Put cooked shrimp, undrained diced Italian tomatoes, ½ tsp dried Italian style seasoning, and a can of tomato sauce in a bowl and heat them all together. Pour over couscous, which has been cooked according to the directions given on the package, and serve.

Supper Steak

Take any kind of steak you like, and broil it. In a small pan, put in 2 tsp soy sauce, 2 tbsp butter, and a jar of mushrooms after draining them. Put the pan on heat, and heat the ingredients until they become hot. Top the steak with this sauce, serving over refrigerated mashed potatoes that have been made according to directions on package.

Italian Style Broccoli and Shrimp

Heat frozen broccoli with undrained, diced herb tomatoes and garlic. Stir the cooked shrimp in and simmer until it becomes hot. You can serve this on heated refrigerated mash potatoes, cooked noodles, or rice.

Chicken Crème with Asparagus

Cook frozen or fresh asparagus and add frozen diced chicken that has been cooked and bottled Alfredo sauce to it. Put it on low heat and cook until it becomes hot. You can serve this on cooked fettuccine.

Sandwiched Meatballs

Put a jar of spaghetti sauce in a pan, and add frozen peas and frozen cooked meatballs. Toast hoagie buns and spoon it on them, and topping with slices of mozzarella cheese, broil for about a minute, until the cheese melts.
