#1. Oatmeal Acne Homemade Mask
Grind a handful of uncooked oatmeal into a fine powder. Keep pouring some warm water, until a well blended paste is formed. Add a pinch of lavender or chamomile to it. Apply on the acne affected area and leave it for 15-20 minutes to dry. Rinse it off with cold water.

#2. Yogurt and Oatmeal
Yogurt for treating acne has been in use since ages. Mix 2 tsp plain yogurt with 3 tsp oatmeal powder. Add 2 tsp tomato juice and 2 tsp mashed cucumber to the mixture. Put a small amount of aloe gel to the mixture and blend it well. Apply on the skin for 15 minutes before washing it off with water.

#3. Honey and Apple Facial Mask
Apples are very effective in treating acne due to its antioxidant properties. But, can eating apples help acne removal? Probably not. Apple should be applied on the skin if you want a remedy for acne. Mix 2 tsp of honey to a pulp of a single apple and apply it on your skin. Leave it to dry for at least 15-20 minutes before you rinse it with warm water.

Certain herbs, that are easily available in your kitchen are known to have therapeutic uses in treating acne.
  • Tea tree oil for acne treatment is a good homemade remedy for acne. It is an essential oil which is applied topically in diluted form.
  • Boil 2-3 tea bags and add a few dried basil leaves in it. Apply the solution on the affected region with a cotton ball.
  • Crush some fresh mint leaves and apply them every night to reduce the outbreak of acne.
  • Form a paste of neem leaves and add a pinch of turmeric to it. Apply on the acne to reduce their visibility
  • Aloe Vera acts as a good cleanser, hence extract the pulp from a fresh aloe leaf and apply it on the skin.
General Homemade remedies for Acne Treatment
  • You can try exfoliating the skin with oatmeal and epsom salts for acne reduction.
  • Visine eye drops are effective in reducing the redness caused due to acne.
  • Vitamins that are effective for acne removal include Vitamin B5, A and C.
  • Use of baking soda, witch hazel and alum for acne treatment are also common.
  • Crush some aspirin or neosporin tablets and mix it in water to form a paste. Apply this paste at night and wash it off in the morning. The anti-bacterial properties of these medicines help fight against acne.
  • Toothpaste is the most popular quick fix for acne. Dab a small amount of toothpaste at night, to reduce the visibility of acne.
