Queen Bee Meets Vampire Ch. 6
I'M SO SORRY IT TOOK SO LONG!!! I had to do this camp thing that lasts three weeks at a time and you're not allowed to bring electronics. But I'm back!!! Hope you like it, please comment!!!!!! :)
"How do I look?" I asked Virginia and Mackenzie nervously. It was the night of my date with Jack and I was totally freaking out! It was really strange for me; usually the guy I'm going out with was the nervous one. Once, my boyfriend invited me over for Thanksgiving Dinner and his family started talking about how nervous he was before our first date. It seemed like the roles had been switched and I was the one with sweaty palms.
"Rose, stop worrying!" said Mackenzie. "You look great and Jack is totally going to love you!" That is one of the many reasons why I loved Mackenzie she's always there for me.
"Yeah, you have absolutely nothing to worry about." chimed Virginia. All was forgiving between her and I, besides nine years of friendship was too strong for some guy to get in between, no matter how hot the guy was.
"What if he doesn't like me?" I asked anxiously turning back to the huge mirror hanging on my bedroom wall. For the past two hours Mackenzie, Virginia, and I had been preparing for this date that meant hair, makeup, and clothes. I may never be able to get the excessive amounts of hairspray out of my hair, but I had to admit they did a great job.
Mackenzie was about to answer, but she was cut off by a door bell. We all froze when we heard the ominous ring. Virginia was the first to recover, she jump up from my bed and shook me until I returned to earth.
"Rose, go! Get your butt downstairs!" she said, pushing me toward my door. I glanced at Mackenzie and she nodded encouragingly, I glared at her.
"Miss. Rose, your date is here." said Seth in a mocking voice through my door. I rolled my eyes and pushed my door open. I took a deep breath and walked down stairs.
"Hello Rose." Jack said when I got to the bottom of the stairs. 'God, he's so beautiful!' I thought to myself. This was the first time I'd ever felt like I wasn't pretty enough. It was a strange feeling.
"Hey." I said smiling. I still couldn't believe I was going on a date with this beautiful boy, but I was.
"Where are we going?" I asked as he grabbed my hand and lead me outside to his gorgeous Mercedes. My mouth dropped open when I saw it, Jack chuckled when saw my reaction.
"You like sports cars?" he asked. I simply nodded without taking my eyes off the beautiful piece of metal. Jack seemed perfect. He was beautiful, rich, charming, sweet, I could go on forever.
"So, umm... where are we going?" I asked when we got into the car. I had to stop myself from moaning when I heard the purr of the engine.
"That is a surprise." he said with a gleam in his eye.
When he stopped the car, I recognized where we were immediately. It was this cool little town that was just outside LA. I used to go there a lot when I was younger because they had all these cute one of a kind stores but then I discovered Prada.
"Oh my God, I love this place." I said when I noticed the sit down pizza place that we were parked in front of.
"I thought you would." he said with a smug smile as if he were enjoying some private joke. He grabbed my hand and led me inside.
"Lacusta, for two." Jack said to the hostess. She seemed caught off guard when she saw Jack, she smiled and batted her eyelashes flirtatiously and that made want to punch her.
"I only have Lacusta for four." she said still trying to flirt and still pissing me off.
Confusion obscured Jacks perfect features. "Are you sure?" he asked.
The hostess seemed to finally notice me standing next to him with my fingers laced between his cool fingers. "Yeah." she said gesturing towards a booth near the back with two people already sitting there. I couldn't make out who was sitting there, but Jack seemed to be able to since his expression turned sour when he laid eyes on the booth.
"How long is the wait for another table?" he asked.
"Two hours, sorry." she said, but she didn't seem to sorry about being able to stare at him for the next two hours.
"We'll just take the booth." he said reluctantly. The hostess just shrugged and got two menus out from under the counter and led us to the booth.
"Hello Jack." said a smooth voice that could only belong to Matt Lacusta. When I processed the fact that Matt had supposedly changed my and Jack's date into a double, my eyes darted to the girl sitting next to him. I saw Erin.
"Matt." he said with a nod as he slid into the booth after me. I was extremely irritated I mean Matt was cool, but Erin wasn't and if Matt was going to date anyone why did it have to be Erin?!
"Rose, how are you?" Erin asked. It was obvious that she was reviling in my display of annoyance, anger, and shock and Matt seemed to be doing the same with Jack.
I suppressed a glare and smiled instead. "I'm fine, you?" I said pleasantly. Erin looked a bit surprised at my acting ability, but she quickly composed her features.
"I'm great." she said. Unlike me, Erin was always a horrible liar and I could hear the fakeness in her voice.
"Hey guys I'm Connie, can I get you anything to drink?" said the waitress. She was super petite, and unlike the hostess she didn't flirt with Jack or Matt, at all. It was as if she was totally oblivious to their extreme hotness.
"I'll have a diet coke." said Erin. I just rolled my eyes. If you're going to waste calories on soda, then you might as well get regular coke because diet coke tastes like cancer.
"Just water." I said, glancing up at her and noticing the wedding ring flashing on her tiny finger.
"Can I have a Sam Adams?" Matt asked.
Connie rolled her eyes and asked. "Can I see some ID?" I couldn't but giggle when she said that.
"I'll just have a water." he said coldly.
"Thought so, you?" she said turning toward Jack.
"Water." he said emotionlessly. She wrote that down and walked away. The table remained silent for for a few minutes.
"Matt, can I talk to you for a second?" Jack asked getting up from the table. Matt followed muttering something unintelligible.
"Who do you think you freankin' are?" I hissed once they were out of earshot. I glared at her and she returned the glare. I felt an overwhelming wave of pure hate, trust me, if you were me you'd want to kill her too.
"I don't know what you're talking about." she said, rolling her stupid eyes.
"Oh, don't give me that crap." I spat. "You know what you did and let me tell you something, Jack doesn't like you and Matt doesn't like you so you can stop pretending that you're me." As I said this, a few different emotions flitted across her face. First, shock that I would say something like that, then hurt, and finally, anger.
Instead of responding to me, she got up from the table and headed toward the restroom. As she was leaving, the boys were coming back.
"What did you do?" Jack said with amusement in his eyes.
"I don't know." I said in the most innocent voice I could manage.
Against all odds, I had a great time. Most of my happiness came from the fact that when Erin her eyes were red and puffy but unfortunately her makeup was still intact but she didn't say a word for the rest of the evening.
When we pulled up to the house Jack said. "I'm so sorry about my brother and Erin."
"It's cool, I had a great time." I said honestly.
"That's great." he said followed by a long pause. I debated in my head whether I should kiss him or not and I decided against it.
"I should go." I said. He nodded and I got out of the car. I was nervous about what I would tell everyone come Monday.
