Purple Heart Charity

The Purple Heart charity was formed in 1932, chartered by the Congress and is a sub-section of the 'Military Order of the Purple Heart'. It was started for the protection and concern of the military personnel that received the medal of honor 'the Purple Heart Medal', as the result of a combat related injury. The medal is given in the honor of the veterans who were wounded in combat. If the soldier dies at the hands of the enemy, the award is given to his or her family members. It is a division of Service and Rehabilitation Department and its services and aids support the combat wounded and disabled Purple Heart veterans in all possible ways.

It is an organization that not only helps the veterans and their families who earned the Purple Heart medal, but also provides benefits to the homeless veterans. It is an honored veteran’s service organization for the nation’s Catholic military veterans. Its main objective is to raise funds for the service, welfare, educational and rehabilitation programs for the handicapped or disabled veterans, their widows, orphans or survivors. People can donate useful clothings, furniture, home appliances, cars and old cell phones. Boats, RVs, motorcycles, etc., are also acceptable in most of the cases.

The donation procedure is very simple, either you can go to their website and complete the online donation form or call 888-414-4483. All you need to have is the car title and the keys ready. As soon as Purple Heart will receive necessary information about your donation, a registered towing service will contact you to arrange for a pickup. The towing company will give you a receipt that shows your car has been picked up on the behalf of Purple Heart. Within 10 to 14 days you will get a receipt for your car donation.
