Purple Heart Car Donation
The Purple Heart is a US military decoration that is awarded to the members of the armed forces of the US who are killed or wounded while fighting for the country. It is given in the name of the President. Only those military personnel qualify for this order who have been wounded or killed after April 5, 1917. This decoration has its origin in the 'Badge of Military Merit' established by George Washington on August 7, 1782. Although this award was never abolished, it was not conferred upon any military personnel after the Revolutionary War. In 1927, General Charles Pelot Summerall, the then Army Chief of Staff tried to revive the decoration. But it was not until 1932 (on the bicentennial of George Washington), that the badge was re-instituted into the military service as a result of the efforts of General Douglas MacArthur. However, it was renamed the 'Purple Heart'.

Purple Heart Charity

Shortly after the award was re-instituted, a group of veterans of the armed forces laid the first chapter of the Military Order of the Purple Heart in 1932. This is a non-profit organization that provides free assistance and representation to all the military veterans, their survivors and dependents. Besides this, the organization processes the claims for pension, medical care, education and so on, for all veterans and serves on the president's committee to provide employment to people with disabilities.

Purple Heart Charity provides a great opportunity to those who want to contribute their bit to the welfare of the armed personnel who ensure the safety and sovereignty of our country. This can be done by the civilians in the form of the Purple Heart Donations, that include electronic appliances, clothes, household goods, used cars, cash, etc. Out of all the various donation programs, let us talk a little more on the most popular one - Purple Heart Car Donation Program.
