Propane Water Heater

In this article, we talk about propane water heater. Water heaters are a very popular concept in an average American home, as we all know. We list down some points which will help use understand propane water heaters better.
Water heaters in today's market are far more effective and superior to the models which were available in earlier. Modern propane hot water heater is a good example of advanced design and technology, which has made it a favorite among customers. Propane water heaters available today in the market range from 40 gallons to 100 gallons. As technology is working its way to save the planet and its fuels, propane heaters are now available in space-saving models which ensures and cuts down fuel consumption, and reduce emissions, as propane is only used when hot water is used.

Tankless Propane Water Heaters
Propane tankless water heaters are slowly becoming a favorite home appliance for a number of reasons. The main reason behind their popularity is their efficiency, which means that they only heat the water in use. They don't even use fuel until the water valve is open for use. This means that in the state of inactivity, they consume no gas, and hence there are no emissions. Hence propane tankless water heaters are considered environmental friendly as well as cost-effective.

The principle of a tankless propane water heater is similar to an air conditioner. In the air conditioner, the air is cooled as it passes through coils which have refrigerant, and is then circulated through the duct system, thus cooling the indoor area. In a tankless propane water heater, water enters the unit and is passed through the coil, and they get heated by a propane fire burner. This hot water then travels to the tap for use. Once you close the tap, the heater also gets shut down.

Propane Water Heater Installation
The second largest energy users in most homes are hot water heaters. A family of four on an average uses around 700 gallons of water a day, which is enough for a three-year drinking water supply for an average person. When you use an electric water heater, every time you use it, you're flushing down your own money. I would recommend people to switch to propane water heaters as it costs very less as compared to electric water heaters. They recover hot water nearly twice as quickly as electric water heaters. The fast heating technology of propane helps you to save water and electricity at the same time. In addition to this, you also have the option of portable propane water heaters which can be installed anywhere. It just needs a water connection. If you have that, just press a button and enjoy unlimited hot water. Portable propane hot water heaters are ideal for camping, cabins, boat, home emergencies, and more.

Propane Water Heater Problems
Since it has been launched in the market, it has gathered some excellent reviews. However, some technological problems do crop up during use, and it is necessary to have the correct knowledge about it.
  • Electrical appliances generally have problems related to electric malfunctioning. Almost all water heaters are plugged into a 110V outlet. Due to hard wiring some nuts and wires may become loose. After you have checked all parts and wires, go and check the circuit breaker. If the circuit breaker hasn't tripped, make sure that no wires are cut loose.
  • If the heater is working properly but the water isn't hot, then there's something wrong with the burner or the propane connection. Go and check the propane tank. Check if the connection of the propane tank is good and securely attached to the water heater inside.
  • If the hot water is taking a long time to come back, the water coming could contain particles. There could be sediments built up in the tank of the heater. Shut down the water source and remove the base of the water tank. Empty the tank and make sure you remove all the sediments until you don't see clean water coming out.
Propane Water Heater Efficiency
There are still many questions about the efficiency of these water heaters as compared to electric and gas water heaters. As per all its records, I agree that propane water heaters are much more efficient than any other water heaters in the market today. In fact, it costs less, consumes less fuel and energy, which helps in cutting down costs. Propane heaters fill up and heat water in less time than an electric model. Moreover, they do it at a lesser cost. Even when you talk about being environmental friendly, propane is a better option. As it consumes less electricity and fuel, it indirectly contributes in saving the environment.

With this I end my article on propane water heater. Always remember, efficiency can be enhanced with any type of water heater. The customer must know how to care and use it.
