Promote your Christian Website

Is your Christian website visible? How to promote your Christian website so that it can be seen by others.
There are many ways to promote your Christian website:

Before getting into the subject of Christian web promotion I would like just a short word on the content of your site. Search engines are increasingly sophisticated, and are now able to spot content that exists on other sites. Wherever possible use your own, or friends material with permission. If you use content that does not exist elsewhere on the net, you will do well, and at worst you will not get penalized by search engines.

The bible says that Christians should let their light shine before men. As Christians we need to get the "Good News" out to a world disillusioned by the shallowness of life. The first and most tried and tested method is to get links to your website. If it is a big church website you could encourage the Church members to put links from their personal or business sites to the church site. If you are a new ministry or just getting started then you will need to get inbound links. You can do this by looking for free Christian websites directories on the web, and submitting your sites to these.

There are many quality link directories on the web that are not Christian but have a section entitled "Religion and Spirituality". They are often called "family friendly", but check out the company they keep before submitting, depending on the content and purpose of your website.

Another fun way of building traffic is to join a "Christian Banner Exchange". The most important thing is to look at the banners, and pick one that reflects your site values. The Banner Exchange Ratio is worth looking at, as a ratio of 1:1 is the best and a true banner swop. A 2:1 ratio means you have to show two banners on your site to get one shown on another site. The start up credits are not as important, as they will run through quickly.
