Promise - Chapter 4

Evelyn peered from under her covers. The time was 12:00 PM her pink digital clock showed.

She was still so tired; yesterday she got no sleep whatsoever. She slowly pushed the covers off her and put her slippers on and made her way to the bathroom.

"Evvveee!" Her mum yelled from downstairs. "Come down please!" She carried on. She quickly brushed her black knotty hair and added a cute clip.

"Commingg!" She replied back. She sprinted down the stairs into the living room. In there she found her mum, her little brother and a boy. And he was cute. His hair was a chestnut color. It was carefully spiked up.

'Damn he's hot!' She thought to herself.

"Evelyn dear. This is Steve, one of my friend's son." Her mum said pointing at him. Evelyn looked at him and smiled, he returned it. All of a sudden her stomach started to feel all fluttery.
Then she started to notice his clothes. He was wearing a three-quarters trouser as it was summer and a purple shirt.

"He's going to be staying here for a while. Can you please show him the extra room? And as it is Saturday maybe you can show him around the area?"

"Err... yeah sure." She said unsurely walking towards the stairs. Steve followed her up the stairs.

"So... how old are you?" He asked her.

"16, you?"

"17." He replied.

"This is your room; I'll leave you to it." She pointed towards the room and was about to leave when suddenly he grabbed her hand and pulled her towards him.
For a minute she thought he was going to kiss her.

"Thanks... I'm looking forward for today." He said and let her go. He slowly walked back into his room.

Evelyn quickly ran to her room and got changed as she thought she didn't have any plans and wore a filthy shirt and jeans. She changed into an orange dress that reminded her it was summer. She actually didn't enjoy summer as her dad died in that season.

In fact she didn't really know how he died; only that it was in a car crash. Her mum didn't really like talking about it. She also applied a bit of makeup and made her way downstairs. To her surprise Steve made it before her.

"So whenever you want to speak to your mother, feel free to." She heard her mother's voice.

"Thank-you, don't worry I will." Steve replied back. She walked through the door.

"Oh honey, that's good. Maybe you and Steve can go out now." She said, smiling at Steve.

"Let's go now." Steve said smiling at her. He got up and walked towards her.

"Oo...kaay." She stuttered. She never felt this way when a boy smiled at her. A lot of boys in her school are always flirting and smiling with her but when Steve does it she feels different.

Both of them walked out of the house and started to walk across the street.

"So... Where do you want to go?" She asked politely but couldn't resist looking at his muscles. He must've went gym a lot.

"I'm new here, shouldn't you know?" He chuckled.

"Oh right..." All of a sudden her face started to heat up and turn red.

Abruptly his face turned towards her and went closer.

Rinngg rinnngg!

She was thankfully saved by her phone.

Emily calling...

"Sorry, gotta take this." She said as she answered her phone.

"Hey Em."

"Hey, what you doing?"

"Nothing just showing one of my mum's friends son around. He's going to be staying at my house for a while." She said looking at him.

"Ohmiigosh! Is he hot?!!" She suddenly screeched.

"Em! I don't know." She lied.

"I'm coming. Where are yah?"

She quickly scanned the area. "Near the park, like outside your house."

"Oh HOLY. I see you. And he's HOT! Damn look him!" She yelled. "I'm coming." She continued and then hanged up on her. A minute late Emily walked out of the house wearing a blue dress.

"Hey," she said walking towards them.

"Hi." Steve replied courteously.

"Hey, Steve this is my best friend Emily, Emily this is Steve."

"Nice to meet you Steve." Emily said flirtatiously.

"So where we going?" Emily asked. "Ooo, I know! It's a beautiful day today so the BEACH!" She yelled. They all laughed.

"Okay, let's go." Agreed Evelyn.
