Procedure for Court Marriage in Pune
Many people are unaware about the process of court marriage. Due to this unawareness, people tend to go to agents so that the agents can do the procedure for the couples. However, the procedure of court marriage is very simple which can be done by yourself without having to spend thousands of rupees to the agents.

Note: There is a difference between registration of a marriage which has already happened outside the court, and there is a difference between court marriage which allows couple to get married in the court. For both purposes there is a different form. Given below is the procedure which allows the couple to be married in court directly.
Step #1: First thing you need to do is get the application form for court marriage. You can find a pdf form at the site marriageregistrationpune.com. Once you are at the site, click on forms and then download the form 'Notice of Intended Marriage'. Take out three printouts of this form and keep them filled and ready.
Step #2: The form is a very simple one, so fill it up neatly. The details which you are not sure about, fill them up at the time of submission of the form.
Step #3:Fill up the form and stick your passport sized photos on all the three printouts.
Step #4: Now, it is time to attach your documents to the form. For these documents you need to submit photocopies of your original document.
Step #5: These documents are your photo ID, your permanent address proof and your Pune address proof.
Step #6: For photo ID try to submit government recognized documents like PAN card, passport, voting ID, driving license, ration card, etc.
Step #7: For permanent address proof also try to give government recognized documents if possible like passport. You can also give your ration card, school leaving certificate, or any document which has your permanent address.
Step #8: For Pune address proof you can give your office address proof, rent agreement, driving license, etc. At least one person among the couple have to show their local documents which is their Pune address proof.
Step #9: Then attach all the document neatly. To submit the document, you need to go to the collector's office which is near Pune station opposite to the central building. Once you in the premises of collectors office ask for court marriage office.
Step #10: So, go to the office between say 11 am to 5 pm, and submit your document to the concerned person. The person will ask you to get your photocopies documents attested, which are done just in the next room. Now attach photocopies to all the forms which are already attested, to save time. Then submit the three forms with photocopies and photographs pasted on the form and you will get a receipt by the officer which is around Rs. 300/-.
Step #11: This was the procedure for application of court marriage. After one month's notice period you will get a date or you can ask for a date which is after a month of your notice period and that suits everybody's schedule. This date you can mention to the officer when taking receipt from him/her.
Step #12: When you are appearing in the court for marriage you will need three witnesses in total. Each witness should carry their two passport sized photographs, two address proofs on which the same address is mentioned and attested photocopies of these original documents.
Step #13: On the date you wish to get married you will need to fill up a simple one page form and submit to them, they will ask the couple and witnesses to paste their photos. Along with this the witnesses will also need to clip their attested photocopies. Finally the couple and the witnesses will have to sign.
Step #14: After these formalities are done, you will need to wait for minutes or hours. One piece of advise - the officials will help you if you help them. (If you know what I mean... ) Then finally the couple will be called in the office and made to sit in front of the officer. The officer will ask the groom and bride to speak one sentence, which says that you accept your partner as your legally married husband/wife. This sentence can be spoken in Hindi, English or Marathi. Finally, a marriage certificate will be given to the couple.
