Princess Tale

After hours of endless walking Melinda finally arrives at the pilgrimage in her new uniform, she purchased a nun untire in order to keep her identity a secret. Everyone starts staring at her. "Who may you be?" The pardoner says. He was sitting in front of everyone. She clears her throat before saying "I'm Rachel" she says lying. Melinda didn't want the people in the pilgrimage to know that she is Melinda, she wants a fresh start. Everyone is looking for her. "Hello malady what brings you here?" The Franklin asks. "Everything" she says. "Well you're safe here. Would you care to join us?" The pardoner says. "What may that be?" Melinda asks. "Were having a tale competition. Whoever tells the best tale wins" The Host say. "Well I really don't have any good stories to tell" she admitted. "Just think of something. It's not really that hard. I just got finished telling mines" The Pardoner says.

Just when she said that she knew the perfect story to tell. "Okay I guess I'll give it a try" she said then walking over next to the Pardoner. "In a far away land there was a girl name Melinda" she says. (Beginning of story). "Your majesty I have your favorite drink you've ordered" Melinda servant Grace said handing her the mug. Melinda took a sip of the drink, her face scrunched up in disgust as she spit out every drop she had put in her mouth. "This is terrible. Who prepared this cow dong in a cup?" She asked handing Grace back the cup. "I have your majesty. It took hours to prepare it" she said calmly even though inside she was ready to burst. "Well you can use another hour of your pathetic life and make me another drink!" she demanded. Grace wanted to feed Melinda head to the mules but she knew she couldn't, the only thing she could do was obey Melinda's order. "Yes your majesty" Grace said with a smile then left the room.

Melinda was always rude to others, she thought she was better than everyone else since her mother own the kingdom. Grace entered the room 5 minutes later with the same cup. "You really don't expect me to believe you prepare my drink with 5 minutes" Melinda said. "No Grace said with a smile." "Well then why are you up here?" Melinda questioned. "You can get you own drink" Grace said. "Who are you to tell me what I can do. I ordered you to get it for me!!" Melinda said with impatience rising over her body. "Sorry but I will not" Grace said with bravery written all over her face. "Well then you're fired peasant!!" Melinda said. "No I'm not"Grace said. "What do you mean no? I'm in charge around here and I say you're fired peasant!!" Melinda yelled. "Only your mother can fire me" Grace said. "Well then ill just talk to mother and have you fired immediately" Melinda said. Melinda got off her bed and went downstairs. "MOTHER!!! MOTHER!!! WHERE ARE YOU????" Melinda screamed. "I'm in the main room darling"

Her mother said who is also the queen. Melinda went into the main room where she saw her mother writing down something. "Mother I want Grace fired!!" Melinda said. "Why? Shes one of my best servants "Her mother said. "She is rude. She needs to be fired! And you're gonna fire her now!!" Melinda demanded. "Darling I am sorry but she is one of my best servant. Whatever problems you're having with her please fix them. I am way to busy right" Her mother says "With what?" Melinda asks. "Running a kingdom. Trying to keep everyone happy, including you my dear. You'll understand when you become queen" Her mother says with a smile. A glow in Melinda heart erupted, Melinda couldn't wait to become queen she get to do whatever she wanted to. Melinda knew she was spoiled rotten but she always wanted more. Melinda wanted to become a queen sooner than she was destined to be, she wanted her mother dead so she could become queen. She wanted to run the kingdom, all the peasants bowing down to her.

Melinda went to the nearest drug store and brought the strongest poison there is. The clerk said the person who drinks this wouldn't be able to walk a mile before clasping. Melinda was pleased, her plan was going great. She grabbed her mom favorite cup where there was coffee in it. She knew that the cook is ready to give it to her so Melinda hurried and put some of the poison inside the drink then she laid it back on the counter and ran. 10 minute later Melinda hear someone yell the queen is in trouble. Melinda ran back downstairs to see her mother lying on the ground with her face more purple than a grape. One half of Melinda's soul laughed and the other cried.

Melinda loved her mother but greediness took over her soul and hasn't prepared to take a back seat yet. "How on earth did she die?" One of her servant asked. "I have no idea, she was fine until she drank some of her coffee" Grace said looking at Melinda with fire in her eyes, like she knew what Melinda had done. "Maybe someone had poisoned her coffee" Grace said again "Someone whose heart is as cold as a fish!" Grace said looking more and more angry. "Where are you getting at?" One of the servants said looking at Grace. "Did you poison our queen?" The servant asked Grace. "Not me. . . . . Melinda" Grace said. Shock waves went through Melinda. "How. . . . how. . . did you know?" Melinda asked in complete shock. The room was staring at Melinda.

"MURDERER!!!!" They all yelled running toward Melinda, Melinda started running. She hopped on her horse and rode away. Only thing that went through her mind was how did Grace know? Her plan had failed before it had even started. Melinda went to the store and brought a new untire, she had to hurry before the word got out that she was a murderer. She rode for hours it seem like it, until she spotted a small town. When she got to the town, she just walked around. She wasn't used to being on her own. Melinda always had stuff handed to her, suddenly she felt a hand on her arm. "Unhand me peasant" she spat when she turned around she saw a peach skin male, with long brown hair. "Sorry didn't mean to disturb you, I just saw you and was wondering if you were new around here?" he asked. "Yes" Melinda said. "Need help with anything?" he asked. "NO I'm fine. Now leave me be" she said then walking away from the unknown man.

The man's heart was drawn to Melinda as soon as he saw her. He knew that he was in love, You're probably thinking that impossible since he just met her. But love at first sight is not a stranger to his heart. He knew he had to see her again. Melinda walked around looking for someplace to camp for the night, she had to find shelter but also had to keep a low profile. Melinda knew she had no other choice but to go back to the mysterious man. She went back over to him. "I expect your offer. Where may I stay?"she asked. "In my hut just across the land"he said. "Okay. But how do I know that I can trust you"she asked. "My honor is everything and I promise that I am not a bad guy. I am not out to hurt you malady"He says.

Melinda see kindness in him. She follows him to his hut where there was straw laid on the floor, Melinda was not used to any of this. "This is your home?" she asked. "Yes, Were you expecting a castle?" he asked sarcastically. "No but I was expecting a little. . . . . more" She said. His heart sank, he wished that he had something to impress her but he knew he was not rich. . . just a peasant. "Well I'm sorry if you were expecting more but this is all I have" He said. "Fine" Melinda said then laying down on the straw. She quickly fell asleep. The next morning she woke up to see that the mysterious man was not there. There was a trencher with mutton on it. Melinda ate a of piece of it and got up. She walked out of the hut and looked to see if she could spot the man. She spotted him in the field picking vegetable. "You have no servant to do that for you?"she asked him. "No I have to do it myself or I will not eat" He said. "May I ask your name?"Melinda said. "It's Ardomis" He said. "Oh" was all she said. "I didn't catch your name either. Care to share it" Ardomis said.

"Its. . . uh. . . uh. . . . Rachel" she said" Forgot your name already? "he asked then laughed. Melinda laughed a little too, she just didn't want him to know that she murdered her own mother. . . know one can know. "Care to go to the blacksmith with me?"Ardomis asked. "Why are you going there?" Melinda couldn't help but ask. "I need to get something. . . Are you coming?" he asked. "I guess" she said then followed him. When they got to the center of town she saw a guy coming in riding a horse. He was gorgeous, he was wearing armor. The knight saw Melinda staring at him. "May I help you?" he asked with a smile. "Um. . . um. . . I'm sorry. " she said. "No need to apologize gorgeous. We have one life and we don't need to spend it on apologies" he said. "What is you name?" he continued. The knight hopped off his horse. "Its Rachel" Melinda said she was doing a good job of lying about her identity. "Rachel. . . Rachel. . . what a beautiful name" he said. "Thank you"she said. "Do you mind doing me a favor?" The knight asked. "What might that be?" Melinda asked. "Will you join me for lunch?" He asked politely. "NO" Ardomis joined in.

It was out of nowhere, Ardomis had anger in his eyes. "I'm sorry is this your wife" The knight asked Ardomis. "No I am not, and yes I will join you for the night" she said then taking the knight's hand. Leaving Ardomis there dumbfounded. (2 hours later) Melinda finally came back to Ardomis hut with a huge smile. Ardomis got up and looked at Melinda who he thinks is Rachel confused. "What are you so happy about?" he asks her. "He proposed!!!" Melinda said. "What?? you just met him today" Ardomis protested. "You don't believe in love at first sight do you?" She asked him. "I don't. . . but. . . but" Ardomis said lost for words. "Then me meeting him today shouldn't be a problem" she said. Ardomis knew he had to do something before his love walked right out on him. "Rachel. . . I love you. You cannot marry me as for you is destined to be with me"he said with pleading eyes.

Melinda's eyes almost bulge out of her head. "Are you joking?" she asked. "No there's not one part of my body that doesn't love you, and if you the knight then I will die in the inside" he said hoping that Melinda loves him too. "I'm sorry but I will not be with you. I can't you're not good enough for me" She said harshly then walked out of the hut. Ardomis heart sank, never has he have been so hurt by a stranger before, he would have rather her drive a sword through his heart than to have to tell him she doesn't feel the same way. Melinda walked to the knight and gave him a kiss. "I can't wait until we marry" she whispers in his ear. 1 week later without one word from Ardomis, the knight and Melinda got married, her life was perfect. It was almost as good as her life was before she came to this town. "Rachel go find us something for dinner"the knight demanded. "I am busy love. Can you go get it yourself?" Melinda says. "I asked you to go get it. You must obey me" he said. Melinda was surprised she never had no one told her what to do. "I obey no one!!" Melinda says.

"Yes you do. You are the woman therefore you are my property so go and get me dinner. "The knight demanded. "Why are you acting this way my love?" Melinda asks in an innocent voice. "You are married to me but you're also the woman in this house. I love you but you are still my property. You must obey me"He says. Anger filled Melinda's body. "I AM NOT YOU PROPERTY. YOU DO NOT TALK TO ME THAT WAY. HOW DARE YOU CALL ME PROPERTY PEASANT. I WILL SEND YOU TO MY MOTHER'S DUNGEON" Melinda yelled. "What dungeon?" The knight asks. "Just forget it." Melinda said then storming out of their home. The knight was nothing like she thought he was. He definitely was not her knight in shining armor, she started to think about Ardomis and how much she hurt him. Even though she had only known him for a day he treated her as an equal, Melinda may even love him. Melinda ran to Ardomis hut and found him there with a woman. They were singing together.

They looked in love and most importantly he looked happy. . Melinda decided not to bother Ardomis, she did not want to cause his life anymore harm then she did in one day. It hurt that she lost someone precious to her, she had only knew Ardomis for a day but her love for him was like a lifetime. That still hasn't died. . . . (End of story) "Wow" The Pardoner says. "What happened next??" The host asks. "I don't know. I can tell you maybe a year from now" Melinda says with a smile. "What?? Why?? Can you at least tell us where Melinda/Rachel ended up?" The Franklin asks. "Well let's just say she's happy now. And safe" Melinda said leaving them still with a lot of unanswered questions.
