Games and Activities for a Princess Party
Princess May I
This is a version of the popular game, "Mother may I". For playing the "Princess may I" game, make the birthday girl or any girl, as the princess and let the other girls stand in a row facing the princess. There should be a 10 foot distance between the participants and the princess. Now, the princess has to choose any of the participants and give orders like "Take one step forward". Then the participant has to ask, "Princess may I"? The princess can reply to this saying, "Yes, you may" or "No, you may not". Then the participant has to follow the order given by the princess. If the participants forget to ask, "Princess may I" and follow the order, then they are out of the game or they have to go to the starting line again. The game continues and the princess chooses random participants and gives different orders. Take 2 giant steps forward, hop forward like a frog 3 times, take 2 baby steps forward, etc. are some other orders that the princess can give. The first participant who reaches the location of the princess, wins the game and she becomes the princess for the next round.
Unicorn Pinata
Pinata has always been a favorite game for kids' birthday parties. For a princess party you can have a pinata that depicts a unicorn, or else you can even go for a star pinata. Playing pinata is very simple, since all you need to do is fill the pinata with colorful candies and some beautiful plastic jewelry, blindfold a participant and hand over a stick to the participant. Then, you have to spin the participant to confuse her sense of direction. Now, the participant has to try to hit the pinata, so that the candies inside it spill out. Every participant gets 3 chances and if the pinata is not hit, the next participant gets the chance. While playing this game make sure there is an elder person to monitor the kids, so that nobody gets hurt while trying to break the pinata.
Kiss the Prince
"Pin the tail to the donkey" or "Pin the bee to the flower" are some of the traditional games played at birthday parties for kids. But since this is a princess party, you can have "Pin the kiss on the prince". Make a cut out of a prince with cardboard papers and hang it on a wall. Make sure you hang it at a height which can be easily reached by the little princesses at the party. Handover lips made from construction paper to each participant. Then blindfold a participant and take her to the prince on the wall. Now, the participant has to try to pin the lips on the lips of the prince. Every participant gets a chance to pin the lip and the one who pins it exactly on the lips of the prince, wins the game. This game is quite funny because in the end, the prince is covered with all the kisses. "Pin the Heart on the Prince", "Pin the Kiss on the Frog", "Pin the Crown on the Prince", etc. are some variations of this game.
Pass Cinderella's Shoe
If you want some games for a princess party for toddlers or for 4-year olds, then this is a nice simple game for you. Make the girls sit in a circle and handover a cute princess slipper to a participant. Play the music and ask the girls to keep passing the slipper in a clockwise or anticlockwise manner. You can play nice nursery rhymes or any children songs. The participant with the slipper in the hand when the music stops is out of the game and receives a small prize for participating.
