~*~Pretend Promises~*~*

This is for my dad...or Shawn...
He promised he'd be there,
every time I needed him.

He promised to love me,
even in the end.

Then,
one day,
he broke his promises.

Every time I'd call out his name,
he was never around.

Every time I’d say;
"I love you",
he'd walk away or glare.

I guess you never did feel like that...

But I always wish,
you'd pretend(ed)
