Template for Press Release

Given below is a general press release format that you can use and also personalize as per your needs and requirements.

Name: First you provide the reporter with your name and name of your company. If you are using a letter head of the company and then writing only your name and designation is enough.

Contact: Here you must provide all your contact details including address, phone number, fax number, and email ID.

Title: The title of the press release is very important. You must have a catchy and self-explanatory headline. Beating around the bush and a flowery headline should be avoided.

Subtitle: This section is not mandatory, you may or may not have a sub title. But if you have a subtitle then it has to be below the headline and in a smaller font but has to be catchy again.

Dateline: This is one of the peculiar features of newspapers. This will include details like the day, date, city, state, and country of the issue, news, or event you are writing about. You need to provide the reporter with all such details.

Main Body: The first paragraph should be treated like a main body where all the crucial points consisting of 5Ws and 1H. If you do not provide this format then it is possible that important information written in later paragraphs may be edited. So you should provide all the important information in the first paragraph itself.

Other paragraphs: If you need to give additional information, such as company information, information about other products, and services. then distribute it in further paragraphs but do not expect that to be published.

End of The Press Release: You can notify the end of the press release by a straight line, like _____ or, *** or, ###, etc.
