Do you want to know about house training a dog?

Of course you do. You are going through a tough time at the moment because you have just introduced a new dog to the family.

It's a cute little thing that does not know the difference between going on the grass and soiling your carpet. And now you have to learn about house training a dog, especially about potty training dogs.

I know how you feel because I was recently in that situation myself.

You see I recently bought myself a cute little puppy and straight away I had to learn about potty training as my puppy was going toilet everywhere!

There are a couple of ways to go about potty training dogs that I learn't paper training and crate training. Both ways are effective.

Paper training: this is the easier of the two because it requires the owner to designate an area where you are house training a dog to use as a bathroom.

Most commonly this is either the kitchen or the bathroom. You need to barricade the dog in this area that has been covered in paper and praise them when they relieve themselves here. Over time shrink the size of the area.

Crate Training: With this method you are potty training your dog to go outside. This is preferable but much more labor intensive.

Always supervise your dog when it is outside of the crate. Let your dog outside just before going into the crate and immediately after being let out of the crate.

A dog will not go toilet in the crate once it knows this is where it sleeps.

So it is crucial with this method that you are diligent at all times.

Full bladder and bowel control don't come until around the 16th week. Due to this, do not have your dog waiting in the crate for extended periods of time.

If they are forced to hold it for to long they will go regardless of where they are and this is not their fault.

As you can see, the two methods for house training, especially on the subject of house potty training a dog are both good methods. You should decide which method suits you or your family, and your lifestyle the best.

But this is not a guarantee that you will be successful with potty house training a dog.
