  • You'll find a cap of the sink's reservoir, located at the back of the unit, remove it and fill the reservoir up to the top with lukewarm water. You may use a hose or a gallon jug to fill it.
  • Pull open the cover of the soap dispenser and fill it with liquid soap. Make sure it snaps back in place.
  • Similarly, open the paper towel dispenser and place a stack of paper towels neatly in it. Make sure you place them evenly so that they do not jam the station while someone tries to pull them.
  • Snap the cover of the paper towel dispenser and also close the cap of the reservoir.
  • Now, stand in front of the sink and pump the foot pedal until water comes from the tap. You may have to make several attempts before the water actually starts flowing.
  • Then follow a correct procedure for washing your hands, to get rid of all the germs from your hands.
After putting up a portable hand washing station you may need to put up signs, so as to let your guests know that it is foot-pedal operated. You'll also have to inspect the reservoir regularly, so that you don't run out of water, paper towels or soap solution. Similarly, it would be a wise idea to keep a trash can nearby, so that you don't get your floor littered with paper towels.
