Popularity Ch. 2

Mason gives Rachel a gift in this chapter. Hope you like it, Please comment!!!!
"Hey, Rachel." said Mason kissing me on the cheek as I got into his Maserati. It was about a month after school started and Mason and I were officially boyfriend and girlfriend. Kayla seriously hated me, but she pretended not to. Everything was going great for me. I kinda had a game plan, and so far it was working. I stole it from the movie Mean Girls, I would get rid of Kayla's boyfriend (aka Mason), her followers (aka Mandy and Aaliyah), and her "Hot Body".

"Hey." I said smiling at him.

"Do you have any idea how gorgeous you are?" he said, as he started driving to school.

"You know, you say that every day." I pointed out.

"Yeah, but that's only because you never realize just how amazingly gorgeous you are." he said, making me blush. Mason is the only guy that has ever made me blush, ever.

"Hey, girlie." said Mandy, walking up to the car with Aaliyah at her side. About two days after my first day here I found out that Mandy and Aaliyah were part of a set of triplets; it was them and their brother Jared. Jared was a total jerk! The first day alone, I saw him trip five girls and punch three guys! I was kind of forced to hang out with him, because he was Mason's best friend.

"What's up?" I asked, getting out of the car while Mason slipped his arm around me.

"Elijah Fischer just asked me out!" squealed Aaliyah. Elijah was the second most popular guy in school; he had this typical boy next door kind of look. He had sandy blonde hair, a medium tan, and the condense of his wardrobe was T-shirts, jeans, and flip-flops. He was really nice; he had these blue eyes that were just so warm and comforting.

"That's so great, Aaliyah!" I said, they made a really good couple. Both of them weren't really what you would call "smart" and they both absolutely love sports.

"Hey." said Kayla, walking up to us. She looked horrible, which kind of made my job a lot easier. She had really bad bed head, her eyes were blood shot, she was wearing a track suit, and it looked like she forgot to put on make-up which was a major no-no.

"What happened to you?" asked Mandy, eyeing her track suit. In all the time I'd been here she had never worn anything that didn't have a designer label, and now she was wearing a track suit?

"I stayed up too late." she said sleepily. Apparently she'd also forgotten to brush her teeth.

At lunch, we sat at our usual table. The whole gang was here. Me, Aaliyah, Mandy, Kayla, Mason, Jared, Elijah, and whoever got the two extra seats. Today it was Izzy McKee and Aaron Chen.

"Babe," Mason said addressing me. "guess what today is?"

"It's our 1 month anniversary, right?" I said. Kayla was giving us a death glare, from her seat between Jared and Mandy. It was kind of funny watching her futile attempts at winning Mason over even though Mason obviously didn't have any feelings whatsoever for her.

"Yeah, and guess what I got you?" he said charmingly.

"You got me a present?!" I really couldn't believe that he would get me a present. I always thought that popular guys were retarded losers but, then I met Mason.

"Yeah, I did." he said then brought out a box that said in big letters across the top "Gucci". I was dumbstruck. My mouth was hanging open and my eyes were popping out of my skull.

"You. Didn't." Was all I could manage to say.

"I. Did." he said back, handing me the box.

"Well, don't just stare at the box." said Mandy. "Open it!" Everyone at our table was staring at us, including Kayla, who looked even more shocked than me and I didn't think that was possible.

I opened it and I saw something that I never dreamed I would see in real life. It was a black leather, Hobo style, Gucci purse, and it was beautiful. When my mom took me on a shopping spree in downtown Chicago before I moved, that exact bag was the only thing that I wanted that my mom didn’t get me.

"How much did this cost?" I asked tearing my eyes from the work of art that I was holding in my hands

"It cost about 2000 dollars, but you're worth it." he said, giving me a peck on the lips.

"You paid 2000 dollars for an anniversary gift, after only dating me for a month?" I asked. Either he was totally insane, extremely rich, or he really loved me, or all three.

"Yeah, but like I said, you're totally worth it." he said. Wow, my boyfriend really was crazy.

"You are the best boyfriend ever, do you know that?" I asked staring at the purse that cost more than every one of my accessories put together, then multiplied by ten.

"Well, you're the best girlfriend ever." Mason said. That's when it hit me, I loved Mason.
