Poodle Care Professionals: Finding A Dog Groomer

The Poodle is definitely one of the best breeds of dog out there, and are even great family pets. Of all the different aspects included in the Poodle care, nutrition is one of the most important. As long as the Poodle is eating the right foods and getting enough exercise they will live a long and healthy life.
Before a person decides on which breed of dog they want to get they really have to learn more about the breed and take the pros and cons into consideration. Poodles for instance are affectionate and beautiful dogs but they are also very stubborn and domineering. They are high maintenance and need a lot more time and attention than most other breeds, and this makes Poodle care a very important and lengthy process. Poodle allergies and other common health problems should be researched when deciding whether this breed is right for your family or not.

There are many aspects that are involved in proper Poodle care, including brushing, bathing, trimming, clipping, walking and feeding. By taking proper care of a Poodle this will not only ensure that they are happier and healthier in the meantime but will also help by adding years onto their life. Everyone wants their pet to be in the best shape possible and for the Poodle there are a few things in particular that will need to be done here.

One of the most important components of Poodle care is bathing. At the core of every proper dog grooming procedure is the bathing and drying process, but this is never truer than with the Poodle. If a Poodle is not bathed regularly enough or not fluff dried properly than they may experience problems and definitely will not look as attractive. Skin allergies from soaps are very common. Stay away from harsh detergents with chemical scents or colors. And blow-drying can irritate the skin so get the heat down and don't keep the heat too close.

The first step to bathing a Poodle should be to protect the ears and eyes of the dog so that no soap or water will be able to get in. Then place the dog into a tub that is filled halfway with lukewarm water. Their entire coat should be rinsed and then lathered up with a high quality dog shampoo. Remember that human shampoo should never be used here because it may give the dog dry scalp and possibly even Poodle allergies. There are many different brands of dog shampoo available these days.

Food allergies are often misdiagnosed as fleabites or dry skin because they usually manifest as an itchy skin problem. Food intolerance causes diarrhea and vomiting, but Poodle allergies never have these symptoms. Food allergies usually occur in dogs between the ages of two and six years old and can be caused by a number of different things. A variety of meats, grains like corn and soy, milk and preservatives are often the source of the reaction. Foods that have previously been tolerated well can suddenly become an allergen without warning. Diagnosis can be difficult and treatment consists of removing the problem food. This requires a process of elimination method of serving specific foods to try to discover which food is causing the allergic reaction.

A real advantage to owning a Poodle is that they are the best dogs to have in a family with member that are allergic to animal dander. They are the least likely breeds of dog to cause allergic reactions in humans making them the only dog for some people.

Lisa Collins has owned a Poodle before and knows how important Poodle care is. All dogs should be properly taken care of, but Poodle care is particularly important. Learning how to choose a vet for your Poodle is very important because they require special care.
