Poem of Winter

Just like the title says, it's a short poem all about winter. xD. I've never tried writing a poem before, and this one sucks badly. But..be nice? XD Please only give constructive criticism, I don't want a whole bunch of 'I hate this' comments. But I would certainly like to know how I can improve.
As I walk out of the door,
The cold grips with its icy claw,
The fog hangs low like a blanket of white,
And the snow falls slowly subduing the light.

The moon is up round and bare,
Like a Frisbee thrown into the air,
With mist and fog hiding it high,
It is almost impossible to see in the sky.

A blanket has covered all the land,
Smothering everything, every grain of sand,
With the branches laced with crystallized snow,
And every web will hang and glow.

The Pine Cones are furry and the leaves have all gone,
With only a few rabbits, in fact not even one,
The creatures are hiding, they have nowhere to play,
They shelter from night as well as the day.

I'm shivering and tired, and I cannot get warm,
I dream of hot chocolate away from this storm.
I listen to the silence of the empty street,
As drivers from nature all retreat.
What do you think of this?
It's absoloutley amazing!
It's not 'that' bad.
I don't like it or hate it.
It's not good, but you could improve with practise.
It's really bad and I should stop writing poetry.
