Plus One. How to Catch a Cloud - xix - FINAL
Catching the cloud and moving forward to weather the storms together.
The day of the wedding finally arrived.
Ara and Charlie opted to exchange their purchases the night before the wedding at her place.
Georgia had gone to bed in Phoenix's old room when Charlie appeared at the front door holding a covered dress and she held the tux they bought.
"Do I want to?" She asked jokingly.
Looking at his serious face, she quickly corrected herself aloud, "Trust and faith... Right! Here it goes!"
She unzipped the cover.
In awe she took the dress out to examine it. The apricot tube dress with white sash complimented the apricot colored embellishments on his tux. As she looked closer, she noticed that the reason she fell in love with the tux (because of the tiny design so ambiguous it wasn't a wise basis on which to choose) could be found on the dress too!
"I love it!"
"Knew you would... Ok, ok... I really hoped you would."
"Heart and cloud theme huh?"
"I thought it'd be inconspicuous. Its embroidered in the same color as the fabric."
"The cuff links sold me." Even though cuff links could be sold separately, she felt it was meant to be - especially since it came in the apricot themed color for the wedding.
"So I figured."
The wedding went off without a hitch.
They could be professionals in no time, they joked, wondering which couple would get married next.
Georgia looked beautiful in her fifth month of being pregnant; you could never have too much 'glow'. Her wedding dress hem was bordered with cute apricot embroidered four petaled flowers.
Phoenix looked as handsome as ever a big brother could waiting for the final moment he could call his best friend his wife.
Charlie was just as handsome in his tux. It made Ara giddy down to her toes that he was on the other end of the aisle when she walked down it. Of course, it wasn't their wedding, but being a big party of the organizing and decisions made everything feel so fulfilling and complete. She didn't want this feeling to end.
She sighed. Ara was ready for what the future held. Good or bad, she and Charlie could handle it.
The pair bought out Jan's Diner and decided to keep everything as is. It all worked out fine the way it was, why change it? A few appliances were upgraded, but aside from that there was nothing else to change. The staff was great and Freddie was being trained to be her back up just so that there was another person who knew how to handle things around the diner. Of course, it wasn't too hard to train Freddie since she already stepped up to the plate a few times since this wedding organizing became more like a full-time job.
Charlie and Ara visited Granny as often as they could and even convinced her to come to the wedding as their 'plus one'. She was so happy to have them both and vice versa. Ara missed her own Granny from time to time, but found it easy to give all that attention towards Charlie's. Such a dear, she thought as she looked over and waved to Granny sitting at the table watching them dance to a slow song.
Swaying to the music with Ara in his arms he looked down at her upturned face and whispered, "I love you, Ara Angel. Will you marry me?"
Her mouth fell open.
Really?
"Yes! Of course I will!"
Some time between the moment he whispered, she answered and they kissed he had produced a vintage engagement ring and slipped it onto her finger.
"It's a happy day, Grumps!"
"I agree," he answered and as if on cue, the music blared upbeat music and they all danced the night away.
