Plastic Granulator
You might have heard a lot about plastic recycling. That's what a plastic granulator is used for. Here's more on this useful machine.

How Does It Work?
This machine that plays the initial role in plastic recycling consists of a powerful electric motor, rotor and thousands of sturdy blades. Of course the blades have sharp edges, enough to cut tough plastic items into pieces. The entire mechanism is enclosed inside a cubical and screened chamber which allows the people working on this to observe the process where plastic items are chopped to form plastic granules.
Basically the motor operates the rotor. The blades are attached to the rotor which in turn rotates the blades. As the material is added to this chamber and the motor is switched on, the blades start rotating. These blades cut large pieces of plastic into smaller pieces. As the blades go on rotating the pieces get even smaller and are finally cut into fine granules. If the granules are not of the desired size, they can be further ground and made fine by running the machine for a longer duration. Well, that's much similar to your mixer grinder! The blades are available in various sizes and shapes.
Buying One For Usage
You would ask where to find one? Well, you can find one for sale on various websites which specially deal with sale and purchase of industrial material and machinery. You can check for those websites selling only plastic equipment for the best deals. If you are buying one for a new business, consider buying used plastic granulators. You can also find a number of suppliers and websites selling used machines.
These come in various sizes, larger ones being restricted for industrial use where the process of recycling plastic goods is done on a large-scale as opposed to that in workshops. You can check the specifications of the machine to know it's the capacity which is mentioned in kilograms. The main specification to be checked is pounds per hours. This unit basically mentions the amount of plastic that can be ground within an hour by the machine. Some latest machines are rust proof as well, which is an added benefit. Sometimes the specifications also mention the approximate amount of plastic that it can grind in one run.
Be it recycling plastic bottles, sheets, toys, vessels, or any other object, it is easy with the granulator. The granulated plastic is further supplied to producers of plastic goods who melt and reform it into various items through systematic processes. Apart from a granulator that gives out fine granules you can check out the two other types of plastic pulverizers, shredder and ring mills. As the name suggests, a shredder basically cuts the large plastic pieces into thin rectangular or square strips. A ring mill consists of a rolling blade which will chop the plastic inserted in the machine into rolled pieces of a specific size. These pieces will fall out through a hole below the rolling blade.
