Plantar wart is basically a type of skin infection, caused by HPV microbes. They basically occur on the foot when you come in direct contact with the virus. The plantar warts look like a cauliflower, and feel like rough skin. When you apply duct tape over the affected area, it prevents the wart from spreading and it also kills the existing virus.

Plantar Wart Removal with Duct Tape

Now, you must be wondering, how to get rid of warts using a duct tape?Just follow the simple steps mentioned below and get rid of plantar warts.
  • First you need to wash the affected area with water and antiseptic lotion and then dry it with a cotton cloth.
  • Once the area is completely dry, take a duct tape and cut it into a small piece. Cut the duct tape in a way that, it covers the wart entirely. Paste the duct tape tightly around the wart.
  • Now, keep it like that for 7-8 days, if the wart is of the significant size. If the wart is smaller in size, then keep the duct tape for 4-5 days and if it is way bigger, then you may need to keep it for 10-12 days.
  • After the prescribed days are over, remove the duct tape carefully. If you are lucky enough, the wart will come off with the duct tape.
  • But if the wart does not come off, you need to again wash the affected area with water and antiseptic lotion and gently rub the wart. It helps in removing the dead skin and dead wart from the affected area. Then dry the area again and place a new piece of duct tape for few more days, depending on the size of the wart.
  • Keep doing this, until the wart is completely removed. Once the wart is removed, wash the area with water and antiseptic.
Plantar wart duct tape is an effective plantar warts removal method as compared to other plantar wart treatments. However, if the warts persist for many days, then it is advisable to visit the doctor.
