Plan on Happiness in 2008
Here are a few tips in reaching your goals in 2008.
With the passing of the Holidays brings another New Year. 2007 has made its way past and along with it brings a whole new beginning for many. The past year may have been filled with happiness, sorrow, pain, or complete joy; however all of those things are a part of your past and it is time to look forward to a new year filled with endless opportunities and chances to fulfill anything that you were not able to do in the year past.
Each January new goals and resolutions are set into place for people who look forward to the New Year. It is a time to think about those things that are important in an individual’s life, such as fitness goals, relationship goals, and of course the ever popular financial goals. So what is the key to achieving these resolutions?
If you are going to set goals, you need to plan on completing them. Part of planning is believing you can achieve the goals which you have set. If you don’t have this positive attitude you won’t arrive at your goal. Believe in yourself and your goal, and you can achieve it.
Write it down and put it in a place where you can see it everyday. A large problem with New Year’s resolutions is that people tend to forget the goals they have set for themselves. If you place your goals in a place where you can see them daily, you will have a constant reminder of the work you need to do in order to make it happen. Don’t give yourself the chance to miss your marks, remind yourself and you will make it happen.
Be realistic and specific with your goals. For example; if you are interested in losing weight; this is great, but how much and in what time frame? The more specific you can be will help you in achieving your goals. Losing weight can be your long term goal, but set mini goals or short term goals to help you arrive at that long term goal. Set a goal to run 3 times a week, stick to a weekly diet, or simply set a daily goal to exercise for a specified amount of time. Through these goals, you will achieve your final goal. Also, remember that losing 100 lbs. in two months is probably unrealistic, so be sure to set goals which are achievable, rather than setting yourself up for disappointment.
Goals are designed to help you reach a desired location or milestone in your own life. They can bring much happiness, not only from achieving the final destination, but from the work it takes achieving those goals. Don’t let the New Year bring you down. Hard work will help you get whatever it is you need.
