Pink Eye Remedies
The pink eye occurs as a result of inflammation of the conjunctiva or the outermost surface of the eye. Here, we have provided certain pink eye remedies that can be easily used with the consultation of a physician.

Most of the time separate remedies for a pink eye are used. The form of treatment basically depends upon the associated symptoms, and normal cough and cold medications are sometimes prescribed. The bacterial conjunctivitis is treated with antibiotics and local applications, as it is very contagious and there is a risk of quick spread.
How to Get Rid of Pink Eye
There are several solutions available according to the type of infection that has contaminated the conjunctiva. The most dangerous among all the microbes that cause the pink eye is the Herpes simplex virus, that is capable of causing life long infection. The Aciclovir and Valacyclovir are two types of prescription antibiotics that are capable of getting rid of the virus fast. These two drugs are not over-the-counter drugs and one should not consume them as home remedies for pink eye. They must be taken strictly as prescribed by the physician or ophthalmologist.
Similarly bacteria that causes the pink eye must be treated immediately with pink eye home remedies or prescription drugs as it is also highly contagious. The drug by the name Fluoroquinolone which is an antibiotic, is used to treat bacterial conjunctivitis.
The allergic pink eye is caused as a result of the existence of foreign bodies in the eye. There are many different pink eye home remedies that can be used to cure it. The home remedies for pink eye basically include the use of traditional remedies and use of some herbs. Chamomile is probably the most widely used pink eye natural remedy. All you need to do is find chamomile tea bags that 'do not' have any other ingredient mixed with it, moist them with clean and cool water and place them on the upper surface of the eye lids. As an alternative you may also dip the tea bag in a cup of clean water and occasionally wash your eyes with the remaining water.
If your eyes have been infected with a pus secreting bacteria then you can also try out a simple remedy of occasionally using very diluted lemon juice to flush your eyes. Mind that the lemon juice even in diluted form hurts and pains a lot, hence all you need to do is apply a little diluted lemon juice to your eye lids and tear ducts.
Along with all the pink eye remedies you must also take care and follow some elementary precautionary measures like avoiding public places, properly washing your face and eyes and wearing a pair of goggles and glasses if possible. It would be also advisable to stay indoors and this type of infection spreads rapidly in small children. It is important to be safe, stay safe and keep others safe!
