Permanent Wave Perm

Supplies Needed

Perm Solution and Neutralizer
Perm Rod
Hair Clips
Gloves
Cape
Shampoo and Conditioner
Cotton
Hair Clips
Towels
End Papers
Applicator Brush

Method

Shampoo and condition your hair a day prior to the perming treatment, and make sure that your hair and scalp is clean. Next, wear the protective gloves and cape and untangle your hair gently with a wide toothed comb. Once it is untangled thoroughly, wet your hair, divide it into four equal sections and secure each section with a hair clip. Then, take the first section of hair, comb it well, place it on the end papers and roll it round the perm rods. Repeat this for each section. Once all the sections are secured with the perm rods, pour the perming solution into a bowl and apply it to the rolled sections of hair with an applicator brush. Use cotton to wipe out the solution that has come in contact with your skin. Allow the solution to set for around 30 minutes and keep checking your hair every 10 minutes to ensure that it is being curled. Then, rinse your hair thoroughly with warm water and pat dry with a towel. Apply the neutralizer to the perm rods once it has dried and rinse it off after 5 minutes with cool water. Now you can remove the perm rods from your hair and rinse once again with cool water. Lastly, you can blow dry and style your hair as required. Read more on spiral perm hairstyles.
