Perfect Silence

If you won't listen to my silence,
You'll never hear the words I have to say,
They're written on my facial expressions,
Reflected in the tears on my face,
My thoughts of you lie in my memories,
Sinking fast with the setting sun,
If you can't listen to my silence,
Then you can't hear the sad song I sing.

I always thought you understood me,
I always thought that a smile was enough,
To let you know that I was happy,
Just to hear the beating of your heart.
But it seems that was just wishful thinking,
Or maybe it was just your excuse,
You never tried to understand my silence,
When I was lost deep in thoughts of you.

I suppose I've always been a dreamer,
And I'm sorry if I seemed miles away,
But in my thoughts you were always with me,
And in my heart you were welcomed to stay,
When my soul took my dreams to Nirvana,
It was on your wings that we silently sailed,
Feeling the silence of true commitment,

So please reflect on the love that we share,
And put the smile back onto your face,
Then let the silent thoughts dry the tears,
