Perfect Harmony

The wind whispers to me,
The air caresses me like a mother to a child,
I smile and breathe in the salty air,
And remember that I haven't been here in a while.

I spread out my arms imagining I'm hugging the sea,
And I shout out, "Do you remember me?!"
I love the feel of the water splashing at my feet,
There is music around me,
Every sound has a beat.

I fall to my knees and grasp the sand,
I stare out to the sunset
And touch my heart with my hand,
My heart has a beat,
And it sounds so sweet,
I close my eyes and a smile creeps up on my face,
I cannot imagine being in a better place.

The sounds of the water splashing,
The children laughing,
The wind blowing,
The birds singing and fleeting,
The sound of my heart beating.
It makes me feel so joyous and free,
It's perfect harmony.
